Sarvoch Balidan
by ajay thapa on Sep 08, 2007 03:54 AM  Permalink

Capt.Harshan balidan is invaluable and Ashok Chakra is not enough. It takes courage beyond thinkable and beyond evaluation to lay the life for the country. My prayers for the strong Parents who are going through the agony of loss of their Son and high regards and salutation to Captain Harshan. I served in Indian Navy for 15 years in elite MARCOS viz Navy SEAL (7 years). Was active in many operations and know the difference of fear and balidaan. Beacuse of such Brave soldiers we have their real life experience will keep inspiring millions of youngsters to join the Indian Armed Forces in today world where there are many opporutunities of joining high salary jobs.
Bravo ZULU - Capt. Harshan.....

Words fail
by Mayala Fakir on Sep 08, 2007 12:38 AM  Permalink

Words fail when we hear/read about such great people. It is because of these noble/brave souls we are still a free country. All those liberal/secular/commie/congress leeches should understand the value of such lives.

Let's hope Rediff brings out such stories and create a seperate website for all of us to read about them and get inspired.

I wish rediff comes out with a survey on how the government is helping the families of the deceased war heroes. It is our duty to see that they have a good and peaceful life after all the sacrifices that they have made for OUR well being. All of us must pledge to give them atleast a decent life, for they are the ones most deserving.

Yes, dear Ms.Shoba Warrier, can we have the address of the parents of Capt.Harshan, so that we can visit them when we are Trivandrum and "feel" the home of this great son of India. There are many singing competitions and lot of shows being programmed in television channels in malayalam. Why don't these people institute an award in Capt.HArshan's name? Iam proud of u dear brother for having doing this valiant job, thereby loosing yr eternal life.

For the first time, you have represented a real hero. I was frustated at seeing articles about problems of convicts caught in terrorist acts and dismal situations of muslim community. Kudos to the writer of this column.

If you are true Indian, appreciate whatever Harshan has done to the country, instead of bringing "MUSLIM" word into each every topic you moron.

Rediff is doing good by bringing up such stories to help all indians realise that there are fellow indians who work day and night so that we can live peacefully.

I salute to each and every soldier and their families for a wonderful job they are doing for our country. Jai Hind

Can we have such incidents from Karigil 1948,1962,1965 & 1971 war shown on rediff site

What a hero!
by P Zipk on Sep 08, 2007 12:14 AM  Permalink

I am writing this with tears welling up in my eyes.

We all Indians should remember Captain Hershan's sacrifice for the rest of our lives. Captain Harshan died for us so that we can get up in our own beds in the morning, go to work, play with our children, spend time with our spouses, watch movies and play cricket.
