after constellation of geo stationary satellites we can able to good position as us right now..we can have GPS technology in public.. automobiles n trains all have GPS...no chance of collision(accident) n also work force reduce for maintaining traffic.... very nice initiative
24 dedicated satellites needed for a complete GPS system specifically for military purposes and other purposes as well....at present only USA and russia are having that kind of system......china is also racing ahead to have that kind of system.....by this kind of system americans can watch the time in your watch clearly.....
The existing GPS satellites are sufficient for Navigation.ISRO can have commercial success with its Antrix Corporation and can use that money for such ventures. It can do something of more use to society using the TAX PAYERS money.

My dear, This regional Navigation system is not for u. Ur use is just a by-product. It is for Indian-armed forces. And it is a very useful use of TAX payers money as it helps your family from not being raped by pakis and chinkus. But no one can protect u from Indian jihadis and CPM-carrots.
The logic is simple.. Though I am hardcare USA fan, USA is for USA interest not always Indian interests.
GPS is for USA military other uses are for USA companies to make money. In an event of a war, they can mis-use it in any way they want and it is their right.. So CHINKU-PRC has started one project for its own.
So for our security we too needs one. After all our region is not so friendly and we have no one as friends in any neighbourhood.
So we need an Indian GPS to protect India, not a USA GPS, which USA needs to dominate the world..
Got it..!!! Ok, with a muslim brain, much wont go inside.
While on one hand we are sending satellites, conducting nuclear tests, sending missiles in the air, we can't tackle Gutkha kings, Dawood Ibrahims and corrupt politicians. A country which cannot provide potable water to miilions & stop suicides of farmers, cannot find solution to filth & squalar has no morality to boast of other achievements. India needs grassroot development & discipline.

The problem of porverty is not linked to space tachnology. Blame it on the politicians! Poor management and lack of fundamental education is the reason for proverty. Thank fully the politicians does not understand rocket and space sciences, so they left them to the pro's. The result, for all of us to see. Leave the job of managing the poverty to biasless professionals, we wont see proverty in next 20 years. Kudos to the space scientists!

I am a space Engineer, Happy to hear this.But i have a point, How people are going to use this? I was working with a agricultural based automotive industry in India.I know how people look into a tractor, when buying it and using it.So we need to educate them first and then give a damn explanantion abt the navigation system(SO called GPS). This will take a very long time may be 2020 hehehhe.....This is going to be used by the high class people and not the poor farmers.Still the goverment is investing money on the rich people and not on the poor and needy people. This is a political show off...like testing nuclear bomb(Planting it underground and triggering it)...Have they ever tried loading it in a missile and tested it...Who know,it may even fail!!!! This is all political bull shit!!!
