SHAME ON INDIA MEDIA
by Venkatesh Sekhar on Sep 04, 2007 08:09 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On Tuesday, this news swept across all the news channels 'Sanjay Dutt relieved by court'. 'Sirf Munna not a bhai' '13 saal ka vanvaas khatam' 'although found guilty for possession of armory, Sanjay can breath sigh of relief as all the TADA charges against him are withdrawn' Then many personalities like Salman Khan said 'He is a good person. We knew he will come out clean'. Mr Big B said "Dutt's family and our family have relations for years he's a good kid. He is like elder brother to Abhishek". His sister Priya Dutt said "we can sleep well tonight. It's a great relief"

In other news, Parliament was mad at Indian team for performing bad; Greg Chappell said something; Shah Rukh Khan replaces Amitabh in KBC and other such stuff. But most of the emphasis was given on Sanjay Dutt's "phoenix like" comeback from the ashes of terrorist charges. Surfing through the channels, one news on BBC startled me. It read "Hisbul Mujahidin's most wanted terrorist 'Sohel Faisal' killed in Anantnag , India . Indian Major leading the operation lost his life in the process. Four others are injured.
It was past midnight , I started visiting the stupid Indian channels, but Sanjay Dutt was still ruling. They were telling how Sanjay pleaded to the court saying 'I'm the sole bread earner for my family', 'I have a daughter who is studying in US' and so on. Then they showed how Sanjay was not wearing his lucky blue shirt while he was hearing the verdict and also how he went to every temple and prayed

for the last few months. A suspect in Mumbai bomb blasts, convicted under armory act...was being transformed into a hero.

Sure Sanjay Dutt has a daughter; Sure he did not do any terrorist activity. Possessing an AK47 is considered too elementary in terrorist community and also one who possesses an AK47 has a right to possess a pistol so that again is not such a big crime; Sure Sanjay Dutt went to all the temples;
Sure he did a lot of Gandhigiri but then........ ...

Major Manish H Pitambare got the information from his sources about the terrorists' whereabouts. Wasting no time he attacked the camp, killed Hisbul Mujahidin's supremo and in the process lost his life to the bullets fired from an AK47. He is survived by a wife and daughter (just like Sanjay Dutt) who's only 18 months old.

Major Manish never said 'I have a daughter' before he took the decision to attack the terrorists in the darkest of nights. He never thought about having a family and he being the bread earner. No news channel covered this since they were too busy hyping a former drug addict, a suspect who's linked to bomb blasts which killed hundreds. Their aim was to show how he defied the TADA charges and they were so successful that his conviction in possession of armory had no meaning. They also concluded that his parents in heaven must be happy and proud of him.

Parents of Major Manish are still living and they have to live rest of their lives without their beloved son. His daughter won't ev

So guys, please forward this message around so that the media knows which news to give importance, as it is a shame for us since this Army Major's death news was given by a foreign TV channel!!!

Its all so true and so sad Venkatesh.

Sometimes it feels so sic.

I always feel it is media who is the most corrupt. They have forgotten the social responsibility they have and all they care about increasing their TRP or in other words making more money.

But down the heart I also belive it is "us" who are responsible for all this. Media knows what appeals to the general masses. So I do not think it is only media to be blamed. We are far greater culprit in the act.

Nass,
I would not say that about "Muslims". But I will say that Islam is the BEST way to come closer to Allah.

Muslims have gone Astray. They have given up on the principles of Islam and the teaching of the Prophet.

Do not Blindly support the Muslims. Allah says, be Just.

I am totally against this "Panchayat" system as they are not equipped and authorized to handle such cases, Hindus or Muslims.

The place we differ is where you say that the decree given to the Muslim Husband was based on Islam but NOT on Ignorance/illetracy.

In Islam the punishment for RAPE is DEATH. If they were following ISLAM, they should have RECOMMENDED the DEATH sentence to the "FATHER-In-LAW". I say recommended because they DO NOT have jurisdiction to handle such cases.

you can blame ISLAM all you want. The problem lies some place else.

Contd...

It is now pressurising Pawan to accept Kavita, whom he married at Chandigarh one and a half years ago against the wishes of his family and the village, as his sister. The body wants Kavita to tie a rakhi, a traditional band symbolising the brother-sister bond, to Pawan. They have been ordered to live separately.

The area police, which investigated the matter following pressure from the media and human rights activists, refused to register a case of kidnapping against the panchayat members who took away the infant from his mother.

'The panchayat matters have social sanction. We cannot interfere with the decision of the panchayat,' a deputy superintendent of police said on condition of anonymity.

Pawan said that except for the media and some social activists, he had not received any support from the administration or police.

'I fear that some elements might try to eliminate me and my family. I want my wife and child back. Where was the panchayat when we were married for one and a half years,' he questioned.

Pawan said that he was not in a position to pay the penalty of Rs.65,000. 'I am poor and even Rs.1,000 is a heavy amount for me,' he said.

Village residents refused to say anything for the fear of annoying the panchayat. The common view of most villagers was that the panchayat was right.

Pawan Sharma, a lawyer, said: 'The entire panchayat should be put behind bars for this inhuman and barbaric act with the parents and their child. Are we living in 21st century, nuclear-power India or in some Taliban territory? Is the Hooda government sleeping? What has the infant done to deserve all this?'

The man india wants in its custody.
by kiran jani on Sep 04, 2007 07:50 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is really a futile to discuss all such idealistic thing, unless our policy makers and persons who are in power are bent upon to look the interest of the Nation. We are not poor by nature but by policy. Real identity of a nation is known not by its dialouges but by its action. What we did in Kashmir? What is our Policy for North east? Please show me a single deed of our country that can speak for its pride. What we did to Afzal? Where laws are? What reply did we give to those who master minded the attack on parliament? What we did to those refugges who were driven away out of their homes only because they were in minority in Jammu and Kashmir? What else do I describe, space is limited and deeds are number of.

i dont know what is going in ur mind but it is true that the terrorists have only one purpose and that is to disturb the country.firstly they choose hindu temples as their targets but there were no riots, but now they choose muslim place of worship for disturbing peace.if we take examples from what happened in hazrat bal in kashmir & lal masjid in pak it is clear that terrorists do not respect even muslim place of worship.so there is nothing to surprise why many muslims r killed in such activities

as most of the terrorist activities all over the world are carried out by muslims but the blame cant be given to islam but the the people who run this terrorist ideology.as in india there has been a glorious tradition of SUFI ISLAM ( also known as INDIAN ISLAM) which is very liberal towards non muslims.so peole should come forward from muslim community for its revival

People need to learn and follow Islam ON THEIR OWN.

We see these crimes in the name of ISLAM, because people are following some IMAM/MULLAH blindly. That is very -Un-Islamic.

We need reform in the way people learn ISLAM.
