Anil has written the story like a professional story-writer! The "100 seconds" and "11 seconds" were given to us at the right time! I took a few minutes to read the story - a little longer than I normally do, due to the technical terms used and to place them in the right perspective, nevertheless, the story still catches a lay-man's imagination. My brother was in IAF, and I tried getting there. Airplanes fascinate me - to watch them from the ground, that is - I witness airshows whenever they are held. I always wondered about and admired the co-ordination amongst the pilots in sorties such as Surya Kirans. But this story gave me an insight how pilots could be brave, with great presence of mind, able to make split-second decisions - all of which I knew they had and they were, but this was like WATCHING it.
A new thing I learnt from this is pilots CAN be good story-tellers, too! It's difficult to decide if the incident was thrilling or the narration of it is!
