Karnatak shindig
by Vinaya Das on Oct 29, 2007 04:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I think time has come to amend the constitution to say that if a state govt once installed fails President's rule shall be imposed for the remaining period before the next election. This will prevent defections and horse trading ( to avoid showing any disrespect to a wonderful animal we should call it donkey trading as that will suit our politicians better).

Yes, the best action at this point of time woul be dissolution of Assembly and continuance of the President's Rule and elections held within six months. JD(S) should not any longer be trusted, either BJP or the Congress. When I say the JDS(S), it includes the JDS rebels also ! Shri Shindig is absolutely right in saying that it is high time the Constitution is amended so that whenever President's Rule is imposed on a State, it follows the dissolution of the Assembly. Keeping the Assembly under 'animated suspension' means 'horse trading' - no, sorry, 'donkey trading', which must be avoided at all costs. Only such an amendment would save the States from the clutches of various political combinations in the name of Alliances. Is it not high time that the people raise their voices a little more strongly on various issues? People's voice can never be ignored for too long.

BJP is Interesting!!
by Contractor on Oct 29, 2007 02:25 PM  Permalink

BJP is interesting. Bollywood type street shooting, lynching people on street, buring people alive, sweating and asking for water when faced with direct questions by Karan Tapar on live TV and cutting short the interview, fooling around with illiterate people of the country telling them things like "hum italy jake ram ram bolega kya ? kya?? ( by modi the monster ) etc.. Congress is really boring . Two people who think straight are Manmohan and Sonia. They dont know the masala tricks. They dont know how to perform pooja to bring death on a political rival. They are educated people who fail to entertain the uneducated..

All the politician are greedy and want want to grab the opportunity. There is no moral values. Better to dissolve the assembly and impose permanent president rule.
No election should be conducted for next 5 years. Unnecessary these politician are imposing penalty on taxpayers.

Lets be fair first with regards to BJP !

Hey guys this party has most MLAs. It would be fair for them to have a chance to rule. After all that is the mandate. Our village folks are not fools. They are more politically aware and vote to their choice even after taking money and liquor.
Secondly , aren%u2019t we prejudiced against BJP ? Hey they have achieved what no government has ever achieved ever in the independent India. Yes they are communal but so are all the parties. Lets talk development guys.
BJP is in power in most states other than Gujrat, Namely M.P., Chatisgarh, Rajasthan, they haven%u2019t become communal like Gujrat. Lets not be scared of any thing.
And I still feel in the emerging India the politician are in a greater scrutiny . so , let the BJP have a fair chance !
Thirdly, all parties have killed, the Congress killed Sikhs in Delhi, the CPM in W.Bengal, the BJP in Gujrat. Lets talk of performance on issues.
Fourthly, yes a politician is going for power, why call him power hungry. But there should be some principles and consistency in the stands. The JDS wanted BJP for power and now every one wants a secular status after the objective is achieved.

If the ball is in the court of the Governor he should immediatley act. If the Party leader gives a letter of support is it not suffcient? Has the Governor insiisted on parade of the MLAs? If one or two MLAs without indicating the capability of breaking away from the party and still beout of the Antidefection Act, can it be depended upon by the Governor?
Any way let us wait and see how the Governor acts?
