Karnataka politics
by Ibrahim Rehman on Oct 28, 2007 07:05 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India ought to follow the system practiced in some european nations, where instead of a no-confidence motion or its equivalent, a confidence motion in another party / group is moved in the legislature. this way, pulling down of elected governments with no clear alternative is avoided.

Democracy needs revolution: By Dr.Niaz Sattar
by Niaz Sattar on Oct 28, 2007 06:58 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The true meaning of being democratic has been forgotten. It really needs a revolution %u2026 according to me a new rule has to be laid in the constitution in which basic qualification has to be laid for becoming a politician. These uneducated fools holding the power in their hand can never ever bring a bright future for INDIA.
I feel a new party has to be formed in which these old bull having money hunger should never be admitted. Instead young generation should be given the opportunity to rule the country%u2026 then can we witness a birth of a new nation.

actually every party agrees that in India there cannot be one pary winning majority in the elections any more.and everyone believes that this is the genre of coaliation governments.
Then why can't people choose which coaliation wins majority?
Announce the coaliations before contesting for elections. let people choose which flock or herd can rule them.what do you say?

If congress not supported any of these would not have been the Prime Minster of India. Even for a day they occupied the Prime Minister's Chair it was only because of Congress not with their own party. They must be thanksful to the Congress in their whole life and if any rebirth. If congress no supported do you think Deva Gowda or Charan Singh or Gujral (with their megre 50-60 MPs in the Parliament will become Prime Minister. Instead of thnaking they are cursing the Congress, the shameless creatures. People see that congress withdrew the support, they never said that congress only helped them to become Prime Minister.

This episode shows the deficiency of the parlimanentary system of governance. It is OK in UK where only two parties are allowed to contest elections. The problem arises when unlimited number of parties can contest, each getting a few seats.

Multi-party Presidential system is much better.
