Dr. Pooja, The author has nowhere mentioned at what stage was she was in when she went for treatment or detected. My mother is affected with the same and is in Stage II. I am getting her treated at Cancer Institute at Chennai. What are the chances of her response to treatment and will she completely cured of it. Is Cancer Institute in Chennai among the best we have. I prefer her treatment under Dr.V.Shantha. What will be the approximate expenses for this treatment.

response to treament depends on many factors, hormone receptor status, tumor size, number of lymph nodes involved. Cost wise surgery is around 20,000, chemotherapy all 6 cycles aronud 30,000 and then radiation therapy another 10,000 and then hormonal therapy if needed cost depends on what we use, even chemotherpy cost varies as to what chemotherpy regimen we use some are costly some less, after all this there is 5 % chance of recurrence life time. All the very best for her health but discuss everything with ur doctor whos treaing her as he or she must be knowing full details of her disease
