Pakistan's president is classic example of a despotic leader in great hurry to amass wealth in the shortest possible time at the cost of his countrymen. That the US is an ally in this hot pursuit of power turning a blind eye to all his failings only exhibits the extent to which the super power is lacking in startegic vision to its own peril as is evedentand emboldens the Pak President to do evrything possible to fulfill his ambitions even if the nation suffers.Pakistan is now suffering from its own misdeeds and what they have done unto others hitherto will boomrang on them cripling the economy further. The president is digging his own grave along with that of his fellowcountry men.
Few people donot need any enemy as they themselves are their own enemy.General Musharraf and persons who are creating havoc in Pakistan, Afganistan and in India are in this catagory. When we have adopted rule of public then there is no room for voilence and individual conditions by anybody.Everybody is free to do anything he likes without becoming bourdon on others. If he wants to share his bourden with others than he has to shares other bourden. This is a unwritten law should be followed by everybody whosoever wants to live in civilised society.
That there is nothing like an independent judiciary.
Even in the United States, or the United Kingdom, or for theat matter the Bharatvarsh itself, the executive rules the roost and often either ignores the judiciary and passes legislations contradicting the the top judiciary body.
The shameless passage of Shah Bano legislation is such one piece.
A black spot on our Indian democracy that not only denuded the muslim women but also perhaps forced them into begging or prostitution.

Are you trying to say Pakistan is same as India? Sometimes cheese (democracy) can a little spoilt by flies but one should not exxagerate to compare it with chalk(Pakistani dictatorship).
No country is as diverse as India, yet we are a successful democracy with World's second fastest economy. Be proud of India.

dear s_khan, if you keep aside some supreme court judgements, where do you see impartial real justice. it takes 100 rupees to push forward a hearing date in all lower courts. we have funtional democracy but.... it is by no means a good one. look at state governments around you and you will see goons.

Hum sunne wale hain na...though I don't know the meaning of aranya roodan. The executive does not rule the roost in the West...they cut it down to size ages back, relatively speaking i.e. It's only in the East this kind of thing happens whether the shameless passage of Shahbano legislation or an even more shameless inaction on justice S.M. Krishna report...we're a morally bankrupt society. Jamal

My dear "on", your admission of not knowing the meaning of "aranya roodan" is appreciable.
Aranya = forest, jungle. roodan = weeping, let us say weeping loudly here.
Who is there to hear the roodan in an aranya ?
Bharatvarsh today has turned into a big dark aranya today.
And there is no one to hear the roodan of the onehundred crore Bharatvasis.
All Islamic countries are either rich in Oil or are collateral to enemy countries of West, in either case USA & Europe has a stake to put up puppets like Mush' or Arab Shiekhs... because demoratricies will not play to their tune. Add to this is the religious antipathy of Christian West against Islam, the crusade mentality coupled with Oil economics has only taken a politically correct disguise wherein Islam is projected as angry peoplle but conveniently hiding why they are angry.
This has resulted in tyrranical, corrupt, anti national rules in Islamic world, which is bursting out through Jehadi politics.
Not only West is suffering but innocent countries too are suffering
