Inidia's image globally has been shattered. One side we portray as growing econimic power. And other side our politicians cant generate an agreement on a deal thats so imp. for growth. It really gonna hit foreign investment, technology coming to india. They will go to china. Already china is taking advantage of bad infrastructure in our country. All the best hospitals, schools of the world have chosen china and not india as their destination. This failure over nuclear deal will further make international fund run away from us and go to china.
Almost all major Indian political parties are displaying their true nature for everyone to see. It is revolting and disgusting to see their greed for power. Karat is ready to talk to Amar Singh the corrupt businessman. Chandrababu Naidu is ready to give up his push for economic development and reforms. Buddhadeb who fought for US aid and investment is now silent. Thackeray fights the communists but attacks the deal though he was pro US. Jaswanth and Vajpayee started negotiations with the US but have dumped the deal. Communists want Congress to negotiate only with them so that they can squeeze more out of them. They do not want a joint discussion and vote in parliament because the BJP may step in and help congress out. Congress blackmails their comrades with elections instead of opening frank discussions with all parties. Communists reply by suddenly creating a new front with SJP and TDP to show they are ready to battle. Karunanidhi Laloo Yadav and Sharad Pawar shrewdly drive parties apart and then benefit by playing mediators and bringing them together. How devious they all are!!! They just lust for votes and power. It is amazing that India survives despite devils like these. What is more important than the nuclear deal is that we should get rid of these scoundrels called the Indian Politicians. Why not gift all these guys to China and Pakistan. We can become a super-power and destroy China and Pakistan in a single stroke.

Never looked at politicians as weapons of complete destruction. We need to give them to Pakistan and to China right away!
Correct advice from horse's mouth to fighting politicians. i.e. go for Uranium based Treaty for the time being keeping your goal to develop indigenous available Thorium based reactors. Each & every word from Dr. Kalam reminds us of Lord Krishna Chanting GEETA

You bet India should devlop thorium cycle reactors.
Ex-President Kalam is truly a champion of modern india. He not only care deeply about spirituality, he also combine it with modern science to explain people that both go together. Infact our actual ancient dharma is totally a scinece. To be happy and successful in life all one need is understand them and get inspired to use it in material life for progress. Thats why lord krishna talks so much about Raj yoga. He wants us not to live in poverty but creat and enjoy material life in abundance Dr. Kalam is truly a shinning example of this, he is bringing true dharma into daily life. he must be supported in tan, man, & dhan by all. GOD BLESS U SIR.
If you check mendeleevs periodicv table, you will find the vast majority of elements heavier than led as radioactive. Scientists say that this is so because as the nucleus gets larger, the short range nuclear binding energy is unable to hold the nucleus. so, alpha particles start falling apart from the nucleus with emmisions of gamma rays. It is but obvious that when earth would have been molten, all such heavy elements would have settled at the core. That explains the tremendous heat inside earth.
The core of the earth is full of radioactive metals. As it is, all heavy elements are radioactive. They settled at the earths core when earth was molten. So actaully, geo-thermal energy is nuclear energy. We need to tap this geothermal energy.

please tell us how to tap geothermal energy ? Do we have enough places in India where hot lava ( or hot water thats in contact with lava) come to the surface ?
If we have such places, do you have an idea of how much energy can be feasibily drawn out of it ?

A good idea but the technology needed for that is at least a hundred years away.
India should assume her leadership role and enlist the help of all of the non- nuclear, energy deficit countries in the World to impress upon the N-4(Nuclear first four countries)under the auspices of United Nations to end nuclear hegemony and make nuclear energy freely available to all of the countries under the strict supervision and control of IAEC.
If these N-4 countries do not want to relent or the United Nations cannot be run on democratic principles, the Asian-African countries should seriously consider abandoning United Nations and setting up their own version of United Nations somewhere in Hong Kong or Cairo.

We cannot break the grip of the mafia. We can only try to become acceptable to this mafia to develop our own nuclear program. In some ways this mafia has been good to the world otherwise every arab country would have nuclear weapons. That would have been a catastrophe. This mafia is better than arab nukes.
Nobody is going to give you anything unless you fight for it. India would not gotten independence,if Indians had not fought for it.
If all of the non civilan nuclear countries of the World get their act together, things are bound to change. These few Nuclear countries have their hold on Security Council and the United Nations and control all decisions with dictatorial powers regardless of the consensus of opinions of the members of U.N., yet ironically they expound democratic values to everyone.

Making bombs is different than utilizing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. If the countries are willing to comply with the guidelines of and under stringent control of IAEC ,there would not be any hazard of spread of nuclear weapons into irresponsible hands.
Arabs are not that stupid to misuse nuclear weapons and commit suicide if they had one.

what do you mean by "to make nuclear freely available " ?
did you mean that N4 should give their technology to others ? well.. we cant ask them to because they developed it on their own. we have no stake in it. theres no question of UN being democratic or un democratic. If something belongs to N4, why should otherrs cry foul.
did you mean that N4 should let otherr states do research and develop their own ? Yes, I agree with it and it should be carried out under supervision of IAEA as u said.

There should not be any restriction on trading of uranium and there should not be any moratorium on sale of nuclear technology if the under developed countries want to buy it.
These countries would have no problem in complying with the guidelines of IAEC.
India can develop its own technology .there is no shortage of brain power.

hirak raul, you cannot question the credibility of the APJ Kalam, religion does not matter here, he is the right person to comment on any topic related to the development of india, you should mind your business instead of questioning that great man
Thorium stuff is hyped. So is India's supposedly unique position regarding it.
India should accpet 123 and resolve its energy problem for once and all. Uncle Sam will take care of India. APJ Abdul Kalam is another senile person. Do not forget where his loyalty may lie given his religion. Kalam also did irreparable harm to india's missile program by blocking cooperation with the west regarding this matter.

You are such a close minded person. The person who took Indian science to such a paramont, you are talking like this. You dont even know what your uncle sam will do to you. Uncle Sam will act as your friend first and then stab you in the back. Attain self sufficiency so that you dont have to serve on anyone's orders, and I mean anyone, be it your uncle sam or any other imperialist. JAI HIND

STFU India NEEDS to devlop thorium cycle reactors. India cannot agree to Fissile Material
Cutoff Treaty objectives which is part
of NSG deal draft as it is a back door
to cap and roll back of Indian Nuke
weapons. Without Fissile Material
nukes weapons cannot be mantained or
when Fissile Material degradation in
the weapons takes place they cannot be
refreshed in future. To give up nuclear weapons this way is sucidal.

if you dont see Abdul Kalam as a loyal Indian then you are the worst hypocrite i've ever come across. I hate how pseudo-secularism is professed in India but i still dont believe people like you who could disowning Abdul Kalam just because he is a muslim. By the way if your guess of where his loyalty would lie is true then he would be selling nuclear technology in the black market to jehadis like that pakistani scientist and not talking to indian children about their future. People like Abdul Kalam are the ones who show us that all muslims are not narrow minded and people like you show that all hindus are not open minded
