Q about this deal
by apjunkmail on Oct 23, 2007 08:58 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Does congress want India to give up nuke weapons? When everyone else(US/UK/Russia/China) is Building NEW efficent nuke weapons.

What is the cost of Uranium fuel from NSG?

Why build Uranium cycle reactors when we have thorium in India?

US is in Iraq because Iraq has 30 Trillion dollars worth easy access oil, it is not all gone yet .

India needs to build clean coal power plants . Devlop Thorim fuel cycle reactors.
Build deployble nuke weapons.

RE:Q about this deal
by Sahadevan KK on Oct 23, 2007 01:33 PM  Permalink
Main political parties of India, Congress and BJP have been imposing American globalization on Indian people for last 15 years. Both of the parties claim the economic policy has 'human face'. The truth is that nobody sees any 'dog face' even. Unemployment, poverty and price rise etc. are sky-rocketing. People of India fears now, India may be another American base after Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan, Israel, South Korea, Iraq, Kuwait etc. The Left parties were firmly against the India-U.S. nuclear deal and would not allow India to be a junior partner of the United States. U.S.S. Nimitz, the American aircraft-carrier, which was instrumental in killing so many innocent people in Iraq, was anchored in the Indian waters earlier.

I guess the fact is unemployment is down considering to what it was 10/15 years back. Standard of life has improved tremendously. Things are available-may be at a cost but available. Yes, there are people still struggling to make both ends meet. That will be always there and no matter what policy one brings, we will never be able to wish away poverty 100%. So let us hope for an improved India with all the changes that is taking place

There are better ways to put an end to this nuclear deal controversy
by Venkatesh Babu on Oct 23, 2007 08:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

1. Let the left parties make public the flaws they have identified in the deal - point by point. The public can then discuss and give their opinion

2. Sonia Gandhi's congress should stop marrying this deal with their allies maintenance system. For god sake - maintain sanity in your politics

3. Get a long term solution on how to rule the country when there are petty multi-parties like DMK, JDS, Congress, BJP, CPM - all buggers

Mafee Mango, MMS!
by Jit Dutta on Oct 23, 2007 08:31 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This is latest spin from MMS office courtesy Sheila Bhat @ Rediff.

However, if MMS really care about India or love his job, he should ensure that his govt lasts its full term by starting his work day by saying "maai baap" to his Left "allies" (of course after he delivers his daily 'Thank you, Madam' to Sonia for making him the PM) and profusely "mafee maange" to Karat & Co for daring the Left to pull down the govt over nuclear deal. Only then, may be, just may be, Karat may take pity on MMS and let him hold onto PM post for rest of the term.

Why is Prime Minister Manmohan Singh so angry? He couldn't find the teacher who taught Mathematics to the Communists. Media says they come to me to take lunch. Every time they come with calculation that how can make 20,000 MW, 40,000 MW, 60,000 MW.

Our country is such a gr8 democracy that a miniscule group of 54 LEFTist commies can take the country to ransom.
See the solution which is given by LEFT in place of the Nuclear deal:
They say This deal is just to produce 7% electricity(truth is that India will produce 35% electricity...right now it produces 2% N-energy).With fuel cost increasing heavily to almost 100 dollars, Uranium will be a much cheaper option.
Commies say that we have enough coal deposits to produce electricity for 100 years....If this was the case why dont we produce right now? and from where the commies have got their data from, and what about pollution? Clean coal will cost too much to produce. What about the transportation costs involved?
People in India and the world know why the Communists and BJP are opposing this deal....(BJP - Cos the congress will get all the laurels for bringing India and USA together) (LEFT - cos it brings two great democracies together, and India will be able to fight terrorism on its soil with US support, and their Paki and chinese masters will be pissed with it)

I like yr presentation on communists. It is true that the communism is the same through the world i.e. no other party in communism but In democracy they do exist. Even though they cannot tolerate in their own countries. Chekoslovakia is a good example of voting for communism and they suffered when Soviets pushed their army in Chekoslovaka on some pretext. What a great brotherhood among communists. They themselves do nothing good in their states. But always advice the whole world what others should do and what not. Ashok Patil

Now it is a time for debate real issues in Parliament.
Communist Party wanted to avoid debates on major issues.
Major Issues in India.
1) How many jobs Communist Party has created for poor since they are in power in last 30 years.
2)How many poor become rich in West Bengal & Kerala.
3)How many industries closed after commies comes in power.

N-deal has nothing for India except disaster

PM MMS has not felt the insult to Pranab Mukherjee when Russian FM refused to meet him.The PM does not accept the views of scientific community who know that the talk of power generation is ridiculous. If PM knows every thing then why did he go for cure to AIIMS.He should have cured himself on his own since he knows better than doctors as he wants every body to believe.Fact is that he is history blind and his pushing the deal really amounts to an act of treason since it harms the security of India as US will get control of our Nuke power. If the PM can list a single benefit for India in the deal then why doesn't he do it.
India has a large community of scientists and engineers.Even President Kalam pointed out that the deal was not in India's interest. Mrs.Sonia Gandhi is not an engineer or scientist and how can she talk of electric power generation when she has no understanding of it.
In 1992,MMS immensely harmed India's defence capablity when he unwisely and blindly abrogated the Rupee trade agreement with USSR/Russia.It all shows that the PM MMS is not the right person to be the PM of India when he does things to harm India's basic security and has a track record of harming India's security.
The deal as it is in the present shape it is anti-India, needs to be thrown out into a dustbin.
Our constitution needs to be amended so that such deal cannot be entered into without the approval of the Parliament. The present situation is making the PM a dictator. How is it democrati

Script writer George Bush; Aim to destabilise India and Pakistan.

New news item appears, "Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world", which is cheerless for me. Everybody knows today that Mushrraf is a scapegoat of American imperialism. People believe that Pakistan spent all the money for militant activities, which Mushrraf was received from America. The aim was to destabilise India. Every problem in Pakistan is created by America. America tries the same thing in India also in the name of 12-3 agreement. Congress must put 1-2-3 agreement and hyde act on the table of Indian Parliament because people have no much knowledge about both of these things. It is also Congress' duty because Congress always says it is in favour of India's interest. People murmuring about 1-2-3 agreement is the trap to make a base in India to attack Pakistan's terrorist camps and attack Iran in the name of World War III. People's unity only can resist these things. BOTH BJP AND CONGRESS gave the support to George Bush.

N Deal
by Kuldeep Chandra on Oct 23, 2007 07:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is time that US amends Hyde Act and removes the paras and sections that infringe with the sovereignty of India.

How USA would feel if India makes a law after discuusion in Parliament that:

India will establish business relationship in nuclear energy area with USA.

USA, in such a situation will have to stop manufacture of all nuclear weapons, stop all nuclear tests and commence a phased destruction of all its nuclear armament. USA will ensure to the world community that USA will not nuclearise space and terrestrial warfare any further.

The IAEA would ensure that USA adheres to these obligtions. India would use its good offices to help IAEA to enter into an agreement with USA on these aspects of the Indo-US nuclear deal. In case USA fails to enter into agreement with IAEA the Indo-US deal shall not be operationalized.

In the event of any act of commision or omission contrary to the obligations mentioned above during the currency of deal comes to the notice of India , IAEA or the world community, India will have the full rights to forthwith close the deal.

Left rejects govt plea on IAEA talks, because Left is not ready to eat biryani and forget Indian people; not ready to take ministership and implement anti-people policy; not ready to take money and say "yes sir, yes sir."
