Mr Jindal is a home grown product of USA ! Lets not go ga-ga and claim that an Indian has been elected as Governer of USA !! Lets have enough maturity to feel proud of the achievment that he is son of Indian migrants to USA but its stupidity to claim him as our own !! Yes, it will help bolster the image of Indians in USA and give them their due credit for contributing to the US economy.

I entirely agree. Bobby Jindal has nothing to do with India, he is not an Indian, does not have a heart for India, does not care two hootes for India, perhaps he does not know where India is, he will avoid an Indian he sees that it will not do any good to his political career and here we are celebrating as if it is an achievement for an Indian. We are really hopeless.

India are most two faced ppl. In one side we say, "hey look bobby is elected as governerr, or xyz is president of Guyana, or Fizi"...but on other side if Sonia Gandhi has been nominated for PM..ppl say "how can an person of forign origin can become PM..."....
I think those who celebrate india's success at abroad....should also cheer up if some forign national person works in india.... :-)

Jindal was born and brought up in America. Sonia Gandhi became an Indian citizen in 1982 or so when she was a fully matured individual. I am fine with that too if she has truly adopted India as its nation and I guess today she has very little to do with Italy except for some family friends whose name starts with Q.
I don't think we should expect any help from Bobby Jindal even if he has dark brown skin like Indians and walk around India without anyone asking him for the passport ... he has discarded the religion of his parents ( I am an atheist so my opposition is not from a religious angle but more from loyalty ) , his social principles are opposed to Indian liberal thinking and finally he has nothing Indian we can identify in him.
Maybe he will become the President of the United States someday...that would be sad - but believe me , he makes George W Bush look like a liberal.

Does one have to be a Hindu to be an Indian?
by balaord on Oct 22, 2007 07:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Booby Jindal is a Indian- American.
How ironic, most of the RSS sickos (whom majaority of Hindus despise) who are desperatly after US green cards and talking about nationhood!!!!
Their meanial mentality is clear - One has to be Hindu who accepts Hidnutuva to be an Indian.

What were the chances of Bobby Jindal winning if he was a Hindu? Christians should practise the secularism they preach.

Hindus are already getting a taste of church secualrism in North East.

Well, Bobby Jindal won by going to churches and asking for votes. He is a highly religious Christian and thats why he got the votes. Its easy to blame the RSS but are these Christian and other Muslim appeasing politicians any better? At least RSS is not a political organization controlling power and killing guys from other religion like Christians are doing in the middle east and Muslims are doing everywhere. By blaming the RSS you are making them more popular among really secular unlike the congress politicians) hindus..
