To think permitting Benazir Bhutto to come back to Pakistan led to the re-election of President Musharraf is stupid. The parties that supported the President had 58% of the votes. So Bhutto's arrival has nothing to do with it. her party abstained from voting. NYT should get its facts straignt.
If the lady is such a great leader and holds the peoples interests at heart,then she would have heeded the security threat warnings and not taken 10 hours to cover 5-7 miles from the airport. She had been warned not have a creeping caravan on the road for too long and she did just that. How is it she could breakaway and reach safety so fast? Didn't her jiyala's want to dance her home? But being a selfish leader who wanted a political show instead of real security concerns , she went ahead. The result is before us.
Bhutto cannot make Pakistan fight America's war in Afghanistan. America should fight it itself. The point is Bhutto cannot become the Prime Minister again even if she wanted to until and unless a Constitutional Amendment is passed permitting her to become the PM again.
The lady is pure trouble because like her father , she is an egoist. She hasn't learned that Pakistan is a new ball game today and slogans are not the way to go about things.
