China - India relationship !
by Vasanth Kumar Gopalakrishnan on Oct 18, 2007 05:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

That shows ur lack of historical knowledge. Nehru was the one who stood for tibetian cause and accept Dalai lama to live a exile life in india inspite of much protest from China government which at that time was close to india bilaterialy. It is only after this decision by Nehru to support Tibetian cause that China became our enemy and china started supplying more military equipments to pakistan. At world front by supporting tibet we had a good name coming in the way as peace loving nation and a nation that works for peace. At the same time, the decision spoiled our relationship with china and we ended up facing couple of wars with them and china continues to be a treat to us still now.

There was always conflicts between Vallabhai Patel and Nehru. Even before Independence, Vallabhai Patel had a great vision for India while Nehru always want to be CEO of India; and alld the congressmen aware of this but none of the congress leaders including great MKG had the guts/bravenss to suppress Nehru. Had only Vallabhai Patel be our first PM, India might hv been very different. Remember, Patel handled the integration of 560 small states to become under the Indian flag while Nehru just handled Kashmir and left it in great mess bcoz of which we are stil paying penalty and multi-billion rupees are being wasted since 1947 in every aspect and still it's pain our ass. Vasanthkumar is correct in his words about Tibet issue handled by Nehru. Again it was a mis-calculation of Nehru blindly following some stupid politicians/govt.officials at that time. Remember, India is the 1st country to ackwnoledge China in 1949 when they became republic and our relationship with China was at it's best until 1960. Chinese leaders Mao, Zhuenlai welcomed Indian President Dr.Radhakrishand to China and treated him well. It was Nehru who started the conflict with China by his unnecessary things about Tibet. There are so many Indian companies are doing business in China now, even some companies closed their manufacturing units in India and opened them in China. USA is just playing political game.

Well said. You do not want to take the burn out from dealing with financially bankrupt, incompetent and backward neighbor - there is enough of it already around India.

Free Tibet from China
by Vijay urf Teesmar Khan on Oct 18, 2007 04:48 PM  Permalink

India should cut all talks and trades with China, unless it give full autonomy to Tibet. China is exploiting Tibet since long time and our foolish PM J.L. Nehru did do nothing to stop it.

Angry China summons US envoy
by Ranganathan on Oct 18, 2007 03:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We are very happy that US has given an award to Dalai Lama, the living Buddha. The people of China are also very happy. But, the communist Govt. in China is the only angry monkeys. They are always against peace and any growth, like in India.

China is the Agrressor
by ramanujam narayan on Oct 18, 2007 03:38 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

China invaded Tibet in the 50's and annexed it to their land. Before that Tibet was an independnt spirutual state. China has not right to do this and their people being angry for awarding the highest honour by
washington on the spirutal leader cannot be justified. They have no reason to be angry, on the other hand China should quit occoupation of Tibet.

Why India cant do same for Burma?
by Nikhil P Pampatwar on Oct 18, 2007 03:31 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Even though China is such a strong country. Even though US is dependant on China for mfg (at least now) US supports what is good for peace and democracy. Look at our congress government, its shame we not only overlook what is happening in Burma, but setup gas deals with that government. Shame on us.
