When a Muslim marries a Hindu (or Xtian, Sikh, Jewish) girl, its not a multi-religious family. Almost always, the girl is forced to convert to Islam, and offsprings are brought up in Muslim way.
However, when a Hindu (or Xtian, Sikh, jewish) boy marries a Xtian (or Sikh, Jeiwsh) girl, the girl keeps her cultural identity intact.
You will find many such examples in the west.
This conversion, almost always when a Muslim boy marries outside his religion, is the ROOT CAUSE OF ALL TROUBLES.
Extremi st Muslims who force vulnerable teenage girls to convert to Islam are being targeted by police, Met chief Sir Ian Blair has revealed.
Police are working with universities to clamp down on "aggressive conversions" during which girls are beaten up and forced to abandon university courses.

The Hindu Forum of Britain claims hundreds of mostly Sikh and Hindu girls have been intimidated by Muslim men who take them out on dates before terrorising them until they convert.
Sir Ian spoke about the problem at a conference organised by the forum.
A Met spokesman said: "Neighbourhood officers work with university authorities in London and we would encourage anyone targeted in this way to seek help and support and where necessary use third party reporting facilities if they do not want to contact police directly."
Ramesh Kallidai, of the Hindu Forum of Britain, said: "Some girls are petrified because they are constantly being phoned up, having their door knocked.
"One girl was beaten up on the street and others have been forced to leave university."

If the report in Telegraph is 50% correct, then it is obvious that police had threatened Priyanka and Rizuwanur, specially Rizwanur. And it could be also true that police is directly or indirectly involved in murdering him, (who cares about a poor muslim - was the thought probably), as Riz does not look like a person to commit suicide. The tainted polices officers are merely transferred. It is just a slap on the wrist. Hope, these police officers as well as Todi will get exemplary punishment (though I don't think it will actually happen). We should not forget that it can happen to us anyday. It is true that Govt. is acting little positively because of the communal factor, but irrespective of that, police was unnecessarily and illegally involved in other's matter and too eager to satisfy the Todis (probably benefited by a huge amount of money - which CM also admitted that money-power was behind this case). It is good to see that Calcutta's general public, including CM's family is putting constant pressure on the admistration. It is a chance of us to see some social reform. And though not very hopeful yet, but still looking forward to the ultimate outcome of this case.
