Yes you are right. If its a law, it should be on all the Muslims and Christians. Can this single evidence provide enough to show that Muslims(more than 90 pc, as i have friends who do respect the law and order and the country current requirement) dont respect the Indian Constitution.

The media wants to make money. If its a responsible media, it should focus on the growth of the country. Rather than throwing light on some rape cases, keep reminding people and the government of the where we lack, what important cases we have forgot.

India lacks basic discipline. You are right Anish. Show me people stand on line to get into bus or train? They dont believe in that. First of all our politicians dont know the ABCD of discipline. All you need to do is watch our MPs behavior in the parliment. They are suppose to be our leaders. Compare our parliment with Britts or Aus.

Problem is not with the Left. Problem is with the strong leadership. Forget Sonia Gandhi, she can never be a good leader. I expected a lots from Manmohan Singh in this nuclear deal, but he too turned out to be weak!
Time has come for India, she NEEDS a man like Putin to lead her into 21st century by making a strong India, thus taking on China (am not blowing here patriotism trumpet, look at Russia now!! It has $12,500 PCI compared to $6500 PCI of China, and $3300 PCI of India!!).

India is just coming out of the trap laid by some superpowers (at least the trap of the IMF loans) now u want it to fall into another trap and be under the US. forget the nuclear deal.try to do utilise what u have with u . are we using our capacity for power generation. Do we have a plan. or are we working according to any plan. is there any strict time frame. we indians just want to be fed all the way and want sombody else to solve our problems. I really hope Russia is not like that.

Manoj, I agree with your conclusions but not your fears and self reliance on the nuclear front 1. I know that baddy baddy hunter hiding behind the trees waiting to trap me..... We have to rise above our fears. The nuclear deal is about business. Only the gutsy guy wins. Its time we get to play with the big boys and not be their cheerleaders. We need the nuclear deal.
2. I am going to spin the swadeshi chakra ..... and just look at the bulb ... it will automatically turn on. Not true buddy. Our nuclear system is in the doldrums. Our fast breeder plan is good but we need lots more uranium to sustain the cycle. Where are we going to get it? We had ambitious nuclear power generation plans for 2010 but we have realized now that we can achieve less than 5% of that target. It is time that we realize our limitations and search out strategic partners and collaborators in every corner of the globe. Otherwise with our growing population we risk an implosion.

I agree, they all know how Indians love to be praised. We just lap it all up and think that we are superior to even God. Meanwhile the Chinese are laughing at how poor and stupid we are and strategically planning how to beat us in every single sphere of activity and stretch their huge lead over us. In the end, they will beat us up and praise the black and blue marks they inflict on us. And never to disappoint anyone, we indians will look at ourselves and proudly flaunt our welts and bruises.
Moral of the story: Rise above praise and blame - Focus on Business and the art of dealmaking - The 21st Century Chanakya.
Here are my reasons 1. Our Infrastructure is in a disastrous shape compared to China 2. We only talk while they plan and act on their plans 3. Our leadership is weak and inept. Our government is here to enjoy power and make money. We conveniently hide under the excuse of being a democracy. 4. We fear larger powers and seek a superpower to back us but we dont know how to strike mega deals and do business with both our friends and enemies. 5. We live in the past, either talking about aryabhatta or how the chinese invaded us. We dont plan strategically to dominate the global economy. 6. We lack discipline, we are a chaotic bunch who just cannot follow rules. Just look at our traffic jams. Above all, I would still rate infrastructure the top factor, because it is something we can fix if we put our heart and soul into it. But if you want to change the Indian psyche or the fiend inside that creature called the indian politician, I would say - just forget it, its a lost cause.
Now lets pass some beer around and boast how we are going to beat Chinese asses in the next decade.... CHEERS!!

I agree with you, 1. They get down to business and dont have ten different agencies each blocking the other. 2. I dont like their disregard for the environment but the rail to Lhasa and roads in Tibet may not cause as much damage as their Seven Gorges Dam. On the same note, our environmental situation is worse. Our rivers are nothing but large sewers and chemicals and pesticides are all over. Cholera, amebiasis and hepatitis is rife. Leprosy tuberculosis and polio is still thriving in India. We cannot even blame it all on development. 3. China always understates their figures not to attract more trouble and american anger. They are probably growing at 17-18% and their dollar surpluses may be more. That is why they are buying up oil fields everywhere and metal supplies from all the south american countries. 4. Their poor labourers are doing way better than indians. We are famous for starvation deaths. The best way is to compare slums. Our slums can easily put the chinese slums to shame. Jai Dharavi!

BY THE WAY INTERIOR PART OF CHINA SUCKS.CHINA MEN WORKING FOR US FIRMS FOR 2DOLLARS A DAY. IT IS A SAD FACT. HOW MANY POLITICAL PARTIES IN CHINA?
For India to overtake China, it MUST equally focus on MILITARY MIGHT as on economic development. AND our Communist friends are going to ensure that this does not happen. Therefore should India for some reasons, becomes no.1 choice of Foreign Investors, it should be prepared to pay a heavy price for it, by way of another direct and more deadly attck by China, than the earlier one of 1962 vintage.
