Buddham Sharnam Gacchami Dhammam Sharnam Gacchami.
If tibetans embraced buddhism and failed to protect their culture and customs. They have to blame this. If they look to outsiders to help them and get them their country back, it would degrade their situation. And intervention of western powers would degrade the situation. Their ignorance paid. People should learn to manage themselves. If people failt o manage themselves, they should be replaced.

Every one s identity should be recognized but that should progress as well.

Excellent analysis
by dcindia1@yahoo.com on Oct 18, 2007 05:57 AM  Permalink

As usual, Gautier wrote from his heart. He asks why doesn't India lift a finger against Burma? The answer is not supposed to be oil and gas of Burma, it is the co-operation of Burmese junta. At our request, they are not alllowing northeastern terrorists operate from Burmese soil. I think that it is a strange stance, unless the govt has good reason to think that if that regime falls, the terrorists will again start operating from Burma.

Karens (originally Tibetan refugees) are doing their "freedom struggle" since a long time. If Gautier is right, they are hoping to do a East Timor in Burma. A Christian state promoted by the Christian west.

Bad policies of Nehru
by ram mas on Oct 17, 2007 04:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

At time of British India , One militry contigen was always kept ready in tibet . After 1947 Nehru withdraw it . In 1952 when China invaded sardar patel was on sick bed from there he wrote nehru to take action , nehru ignored him. In UN he (nehru) declared Tibet as part of China. If only he had shown China as aggressor history would have been different. What immature PM we had in Nehru , a totally useless to India.

You have got your facts wrong. Sardar Patel died in 1950 and, therefore, could not be in sick bed in 1952.

We Should support the freedom movement in Tibet and recognize Taiwan
by Rahul on Oct 17, 2007 12:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The problem is we need more spine in the babus and the politicians should have time to think of all these issues which affect national security other than saving there chairs and pleasing Madam. if from PM to the peon in Raisiana Hill is busy with Mandal, Madam and Communist what do you expect?? All the NE problems are fulled by China via Pakistan or Bangladesh... Best form of defence is offence so we should start by having a Tibet Liberation Force and send them to fight in Lhasha. At the same time we should take stern steps against Bangaldesh for HUJI, ULFA and other jokers.. Come on folks so some spine and do something for the nation.

Nehru was the greatest Prime Minister of India. If he hadn't been there, how could China have got the UN Security Council seat, which was offered to India?

India has so many problems for itself to get solved. Its better we concentrate on solving our problems first and confident that we are capable of solving our problems and issues atleast, which as of now shows a big question mark on our capablity to solve these internal problems , and then we can get into saving tibet and burma.

Hello guys, our house is burning for the past so many years; first let's fix our house in order and then go to neighbour. India has problems in all the border states, north to south, east to west. Our Government neither has the guts/braveness to settle the issue nor has any vision on this. We have not yet settled the J&K issue since 1947, all the eastern states (Assam, Mizoram, Arunachal pradesh, etc) are slowly losing the faith with Central Govt. in solving their problems, Southern coastal areas are still under the threat of both Lankans and Tigers, Western states of Rajasthan, Gujarat have threats from Pakistan. India needs to fix all these problems first before talk about our neighbouring nations.

Indias shamefaced silence on the matter of Burma bursts the bubble of claim of being the " Worlds greatest Democracy ". We have been and continue to be a spineless nation. I , for one, am ashamed to call myself an Indian today.

Sonu, I agree with you to the extent that something must b done about internal problems. But we must not neglect what happens to neighbors, as it will impact us directly later on...
