This statment shows how nuke deal is dangrous for India. you can blame left for political vested interest but no one can raise finger on these great people who showing their concerns. these are the scientists devoted their life for this country to achieve nuclear self reliance. But this congress led govt is trying to wipe out the great efforts were made by our science community.

Hold on. The scientists asking for debate is different than Left outrightly opposing the deal. Initially Left wanted the deal to be scrapped and after Manmohan challenged left to pull the govt, Left took a soft view to relook at the proposal.

There are quite a few scientists who were supporting the deal and there were quite a few scientists (who all are former directors) who were opposing the deal, but this is quite understandable. Left opposeses everything we do with USA and they expect us to go and sign a deal with China which can backstab India any momement. The recent report in India Today clearly specifies that Chinese have alrady built railway line beyond Tibet to move the military and equipments and also started amsing troops on the entire border of India from Kashmir to Arunachal. They are just on the brink of entering Nepal after already funding Mao's in Nepal. In the past one year there were 73 intrusions. Are these Left who are supporting China going to protect India from intrusion. What we need is a strategic partner and USA is willing to provide that as it is also important for US to have strong hold in Asia to oppose China. Pakistan is already gone to dogs with terrorism and US is finding India as an alley.

Better debate for better deal, but do not succumb to Left pressure as it will be detrimental to India's interests. The sommer sault by Cong is to save the govt and no elections.

Our indian democracy had run for last 60 years on the base that we have a self controlling power and is equiped with gears and breaks. All are grate with idealogies but also we have some without idealogy they touch the sentiments of the people and spoils the game. Congress is a mixture of Capitalist,Rationalist and Socialist. The left are the real controllers but they are fit for the function of Breaks as oppositions. Congress is the only partry can be in driving seat with left as breaks and rights as fuel to run the country.

The company, which is made for money, to fry Indians like 'headless chickens'

Ronen Sen said opponents of the Indo-US nuclear deal are 'headless chickens'.

Congress president Mrs Sonia Gandhi's remarks in Haryana on 7th October, 2007 that opponents of the Indo-US nuclear deal were against the country's progress.

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Venkaiah Naidu said that his party will "renegotiate" the civil nuclear deal with the US if it comes to power.

Well, if the congress was so afraid of polls, why did mannu have to challenge the left to pull them down?
Unfortunately, the stupid congress supporters (yes, they still have them, surprisingly) still don't see through the game. They still want to be ruled by someone just because of her complexion - such is the inferiority complex of some here.

I agree with your complexion part. I wish Rajiv would have fallen in love with African. India is most racist country and yes I am an Indian.

by RAVINDRA BHOSALE on Oct 14, 2007 03:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The indian sicientist have better sence than the socold Lefist and Rightist. Just becasuse of them the country is always deprived from the development as they always against development. If the real development takes place, the shops of leftist and rightist will close down. It is the best time for the people of india to close down thir shops one by one, so we can reach to the development.

Time lines.
by Hari on Oct 14, 2007 03:33 PM  Permalink

One of the scientist appreciates the govt. He talk about setting clear timeslines. What this govt has done is exactly opposite.
They are just waiting for their allies to give a go signal for elections.
Congress is not bothered about the deal. They are waiting for the correct time to go for polls.
