I bought a flat in second sale and later I found that upto the floor in which my flat is located has been approved by the Municipality Cellar and G 2(Each floor contains 4 flats). Over and above this the builder built two flats each equivalent to two flats of the lower floors and also built a portion in the cellar and sold them. These have been given numbers as 305, 306 and cellar one 307 and property taxes are paid in that manner. The building is more than a decade old. Is there any method I can bring this to the notice of the concerned? Can the buyers be made to pay compensation to the other owners because they were deprived of the undivided share of the land? Can the cellar be got demolished and sold to the needy flat owners for parking? There is no registered/unregistered association of the flat dwellers? Is it cumpolsory to register the association if so how many memebrs are required? Can we suggest to the Govt. through your association to form the Association and register it by lesser number o persons than five? P.S.R.SWAMI
RTI is a great tool. But it needs to be strengthened by bringing the intelligence agencies, armed forces, DRDO & other secretive government agencies within its purview. Also documents relating to these should be made public after 25 years. Transparency is severely lacking in the intelligence & defence agencies & as a result the taxpayers seem to be funding a bunch of incompetent agencies. Till now these lousy intelligence agencies have not been able to arrange for the assasinations of terrorist elements like Syed Salahuddin, Hafiz Mohammed Syed, Masood Azhar, Dawood Ibrahim, Pervez Musharraff etc. Only when India starts a policy of assasinating these terrorist elements and also their family members will there be a reduction in terrorist incidents in India. These people must be made to pay a heavy personal price for their evil activities. We should not shy away from assasinating the family members of people like Dawood, Musharraf, Masood Azhar etc. Using RTI we should be able to know as to why our intelligence agencies, which gobble up the tax payers money, are unable to carry out these assasinations.

bhai vikram are u stupid ? How can you ask A P whether he is from pak or if he is ISI? In his post he has clearly mentioned he wants the terrorists and their families also killed, do you have any sense when u call AP an ISI or from Pak? doesnt look like it to me...also he suggestion to make things transparent for army and other areas after 25 years not today!
I thank Mr.Shailesh Gandhi for this article. Yes, I could not agree with him more. This is one powerful act that would make skeletons come out of various closets. Thousands of crores is being milked in the name of development by corrupted officials/politicians. Now, is there a one or more portal / website / internet resource where the information fetched via RTI is catalogued/published for variou writers to use? Is some one gathering all efforts relating RTI across the country? Can some one throw more light on that, please?
We know that there is something like RTI in place. But we hardly use it. It is required to know the procedure to be followed to use RTI. Use of RTI should be productive and meaningful. It should lead to improvements. Mohan Patil
Its nice to set this up, however this right also needs some safeguards because many of the citizens are not following their duties and rights have been misused.
I am talking about RTI in case of issues relating to when a criminal is caught, etc. All the information is detailed and I have seen Police gung ho about telling this on TV, on camera. Now this can destroy our investigative mechanisms and deny right of privacy to a criminal. Let me quote one example from British MI5, where I recently went for interview. A rogue element is caught and they find few documents that lead to others, but the news shows \"A major illegal fishing operation was averted following careful vigilance\", but the Indian news will read, \"Major terrorist arrested, with documents leading to clues about others\" and then an Inspector will also show up on TV saying how and what he did and winge about the system etc etc.
So a right comes with duty and one of the biggest duty lies with journalism because all others are more likely to succumb to influence and glamour.
