Because some of its clauses are harmful to the country. Get them modified/removed, then deal is alright.

Difficult to believe and no logical argument
by Sincere Citizen on Oct 10, 2007 03:27 PM  Permalink

Difficult to believe this coming from Congress , because they have had a history of breaking peoples trust and dividing this country and blindly supporting a family.
Also no logical argument seems toi be presented here in support of deal.

You are misleading or misunderstood. Congress has not got the mandate for taking their own decision. This govt. is formed cobbling the majolrity after the election. Left is supporting from OUTSIDE. The govt. is formed AFTER A COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME approved by the supporters of the entire UPA and LEFTISTS. Congress cannot do their own POLICIES and IMPOSE their culture under this deal. PARLIAMENT IS SUPREME and IT HAS TO BE DECIDED IN PARLIAMENT. If Parliament disapproves, no party can go ahead with any deal, which please note. After all, THIS DEAL IS NOT IN THE COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME AND THEREFORE, THEY CANNOT DECIDE IT. IS it clear Now. Any clarification anybody wants?

why America is showing so much of tolerance
by Prem Prakash on Oct 10, 2007 03:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Despite fighting between congress & communist over n-deal, knowing government may fall out and possible mid term election then why America is showing so much of tolerance and giving every possible support to solve the problem related to n-deal?

because they are weak at the moment and need trust and support from India.

For India it is the right time to grab whatever we need from them, for they will oblige.

We should make use of this opportunity and grab the uranium. A weak US hasn't got the capasity to challenge resurrgent India in the near future. Left fears are only political (may be Chinese inspired)

The interview
by akshay mehta on Oct 10, 2007 03:21 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Nuclear deal is pretty much on the sidelines of this intervew. I wonder if the Congress leaders are born sycophants of the Nehru-Gandhi family! Atleast communists have an ideology and question the govt decisions and engage the people in a democracy of debates by their crazy views, but these congress guys seem utterly spineless. This guy's only view is he supports it because Sonia Gandhi supports it. Nothing else, no logic, no discussions. Useless lot!

Yes, Mr. Mehta. I am fully agree with you. If they have the GUTS, put it into the Parliament, discuss it, pass it or reject it. Congress is a minority and they cannot do ANY MAN MANI as DR. MAN MOHAN SINGH is doing without TAKING INTO THE CONFIDENCE OF INDIAN PARLIMENT. IF HE HAS THE GUTS, HE SHOULD INTRODUCE THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT IN PARLIAMENT AND GET IT DISCUSSED, AND THEN TAKE ITS PERMISSION. That is the only way for the solution. If CONGRESS IS DOING MAN MANI and singing to the tune of USA, these parties leaders should be PUT BEHIND BARS as TRAITORS of this country.

Mr. i think you are not up to date. Manmohan singh clarified everything in the parliament and assured parilament that everything will be in national interest. As perceived by me there is nothing againest national interest. Nobody is talking what is not in national interest. Lefts only apprehension is that India may fall into some grave of USA which is unfortunately a mistake.

The progress in south is IN SPITE OF the politicians. By default the southern states offer a stable and condusive socio-economic condition, good pool of educated and trained people who are hard working too, decent infra that's been there for a long time etc. The professional and performing people from North relocate to wherever there are opportunities; So what is left of the states like Bihar,MP,UP,Orissa etc is nothing but the left overs and the government elected by and of those people, like Mayawathi and Lallu! Politicians are not born, but made! They come from amongst the masses! If U are worried about the state of affairs of these states, first be worried about the mentality of the people out there!

I think u have not seen north. But I have seen south atleast TN and Karnataka. Now that Karnataka is stinking. No road, power, water even basic facilities. The most expensive of all states. Do you know the Karnataka govt. charges Rs. 7/- per liter of petrol extra than that of orissa amn WB? where the money goes? only to Gowdas and Reddies. TN as it is a stink. where evere you go it stinks. I am very sorry to say
