We are not against Developements and electricity. However, for that if anybody wants to write off our self respect, soverginity, independence, it cannot be tolerated. IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, PEOPLE SHOULD CONSIDER THESE PEOPLE WHO ARE SIGNING THE DEALS SHOULD BE TREATED AS TRAITORS OF THIS COUNTRY AND PROSECUTED AND SENT BACK IN EXILE AS NAWAS AND MRS. Hey!!! does anyone actually know how is this treaty going to affect our so called 'self respect', 'sovereignity' & 'independence'???? Coz we have all been treated to the slugfest between the Congress and the 'Left'......Let the truth come out....and I feel lets not waste our resources on getting a mandate for this from the country.....afterall why have we elected these so called MPs and MLAs? let them do some work atleast.....If the deal gets 'operationalised' against the interest of the country then the goverment and the opposition should all be treated equally responsible.......What say???

Hi Wani....lets not be biased....U have to agree that our country needs Electricity....Our conventional resources are falling short to meet the demand and also we have to consider the effect on the environment.....so we r not left with any choice but nuclear energy.....and also lets face it that our country doesn't produce that enough raw materials to produce the nuclear energy needed.....so we need to buy it from outside and let me tell u that as a country we haven't yet signed the CTBT or the NPT.....so where's the question of surrendering our rights to perform nuclear tests???? So we shud look at this as an opportunity to improve the standard of life in the country....I don't think u've ever faced any power shortage.....

Nuclear power is more expensive to produce
and Most Expensive to trdeal with nuclear Spent fuel.
Only if we cud prevent Power theft and reduce Line losses to international standards, we wont be needing new Nuclear power Plants.
the worls Td of line loss is around 10% and in India it is around 30 %
20% lineloss prevention is = putting a few new power plants.
America wants to sell material at profit
Let the Govt bargain Hardly and get the Best deal.
If u send a delegation consisting of the TATAS, Mittals and Ambanis and Birlas to negotiate with the Americans.they will get the Best deal
If u know Quallcomm the founder of CDMA tech ....had to bow to the wishes of Ambanis

Hi Ganesh!!!! I am getting confused here.....a little while ago we were talking of national interests....now we r talking of Mittals, Ambanis and Tatas.....what is the relation....I agree to your point that nuclear power maybe costly to produce.....but is there any other option??? U talk about cutting transmission losses....won't there be a cost involved in doing so??? and what we r using r the perishable sources to generate electricity....what happens after we have used up these resources??? We as a country oppose a Narmada Dam which cud have provided a part solution to the problem.....the international standards that u r talking of r in countries with meagre population....not countries like India with a 1 billion plus population....my dear friend if we get to produce nuclear power...we can produce excess and sell it to neighbouring nations....and generate profits thru it...its the same in europe....btw thanks for the insightful numbers.....u r on the point there...Cheers!!!

Biggest traitors of this country are COMMUNIST. They cancer / AIDS in our democratic society. Communists are illegitimate Childs of China, and want to make India hollow. Can anyone tell me why the Congress is hell bent on going ahead with the Nuk deal? I am not ready to believe that they are ONLY interested in the nation. Surely there must be some catch - some big money involved for the congress. and they must be adament in not sharing the fortune with the left and so they are objecting..I have no faith in the politicians and am trying to see the missing link here.. doesn anyone know the background story?

This is a billion rupee question, noone knows about. There is surely something much bigger than the lakhs of crores which will be sunk into it, instead of throwing a challenge at our own scientists to generate power thru indegenious throrium in 10 years instead of this 20000 MW from imported uranium 15 years.

It means you are not able to live in any country. There is politics in every fields, whether it is on animals, small creatures. If you are living in a society, there will be politics. For your information, we are hearing some people that they are independent and do not want say anything on politics. But these independents are most dangerous in the politics and their own life itslef.
