nuclear power vs. hydel power
by BIKAS KUMAR BHADRA on Oct 08, 2007 05:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The views expressed by one senior central minister (Home)that there is little scope for increasing the nation's hydro-electric power capacity possibly do not match the actual position. There is enormous scope for tapping the potential for hydel power from hundreds of rivers flowing thro' different hilly areas of India as so far only a small part has been tapped. The cost of generation of hydel power is also appreciably less compared to coal based thermal power, though the initial cost of setting up hydel stations may be slightly high. The will be only a nominal impact on the environment at the time of the construction of hydel power stations, as compared to regular operation of coal based or nuclear power plants. It is not clear why the UPA govt is desperately trying to finalise a nuclear power deal at an astronomical cost with a foreign country which does not have a very attractive track record in international relations, instead of tapping the vast hydel power potential making use of the latest technology available in the world. Our experienced engineers and hydel power administrators should come out with the available facts and figures to shift the attention of the govt to augment hydel power capacity.

The communists were always fools. Now if they withdraw, it can only help the nation. The left will get 5 seats in Kerala and will lose half of their present strength. Lets see what they will do with 30 seats in the next Lok Sabha

Chichu,
When communists lose half, the minority vote bank will lose half. There won't be no more hill to capture and no more Pattayams. NO more medical colleges and no more minority right. Then what will we do. No, we need the commies, they will ensure that majority will be kept poor and poor and minority will get the biggest share of the country. Look what is happening in Kerala as you point out.

Chikku,
If communist goes half of the secularim will go. You cant acquire no more rural land so that there won't be no Kerala Congress, Mani, thani, joseph etc. There won't be no new medical college for minorities. And there won't be no church politics.Alas there won't be no conversion either. I pity you. Think what happened to A.K. Anthony? He told the truth about the minority blackmail, and he was out of glory by these same minority kingpins.

If communists goes half of the minority looting will end. There won't be no more land to give out as Pattayam, and there won't be no new medical college for the minorities. There won't be no minority vote bank and no more conversion.

N deal and fate of UPA
by swami pudipeddi on Oct 08, 2007 04:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Govt. should go ahead with the deal if it is good for the country. But all the experts say it is unnecessary and we have indigenous expertise. If appropriate allocation is made there is fantastic talent in India. The R&D should be properly encouraged with liberal Tax benefits. If the Admn. cost is reduced by reducing the number of Ministers, cutdown of Babus, otsourcing of the work that can be got done competitively then there is enough money for development and employment generation. Thinking that election will pave way for the gen next of Gandhi name family it is unfortunate and an uncalled burden on the people. The BJP should come forward and say what is right and change its leadership with younger people like Modi/Jaitley etc.

communism is more dangerous then communalism
by kaustubh desai on Oct 08, 2007 04:35 PM  Permalink

check the history! these anti national elements have not backed the country even against war with china. none of them have even said a word about chinese invasion of indian territory (still continuing) and growing influence of communist naxals. they have retained power in west bengal and kerala purely on muscle strength and hundreds and thousands of political killings (ask mamta anytime anyday and she will explain that with tears in eyes - and even ask congressmen of west bengal.. i hope they will have courage to admit that now). they have not shown any courage in past for particiapting in government but have spooked all development plans and stopped nation from going forward - disinvestment, labour law reform ... and list goes on. even if u recollect- these are the fools who even opposed computerization in banks and goverment offices - same harkishans and rajas.. they are not jokers- they are monsters for nation!! they even oppose the cultural tradition of nation and tried hundreds of times to tweak and malign the history of this great nation! they are labouring the ideology which is dumped by even most rigid communist countries.. like russia and china.. (ask about labour protection to any chinese and he will laugh noting else!!). I PLEADE ALL INDIANS TO RECOGNIZE THESE PEOPLE AND SIMPLY ELIMINATE THEM IN PUBLIC ELECTIONS IF THEY ARE HELD... THEY ARE THE BIGGEST LIABILITY OF INDIAN POLITY AND I SINCERELY HOPE THAT GREAT BENGOLIS OF NATION WILL USE THEIR MIND AND ELIMINATE RO

Communists are idiots. How can we call them
leaders like Maha idiots EMS, AKG, Nayanar etc. They dont want
more power generation in india as this will result into curbing unemployment. when there is employment, no body will be there to follow their idotic principles. So they will always oppose any reforms that make developments in India. Idiots communists do not want India to improve. They are all chinese spies.

I know better than u what is 123 deal. Yes, there r theoretical conditions that show India is in disadvantage, but the whole purpose of US supporting India is because its own energy security and of course some trade benefits etc.

But the main thing is that practically, US has agreed to actively find alternatives in case India tests a nuclear weapon again! This is no mean thing, US is not proposing such concessions even to its closest ally - ISRAEL.

Our present constitution have so much outdated laws which will have to get ratified or amended. Example: Article 370 - special status given to one State. It should be removed. Rashtra Language: Hindi to be made compulsory; educational curricum should be changed and there is only one national curriculum. Hindi, English, and state lanugage are to be compulsory: History should be state and national combinedly. Except State History, all other subjects to be studied as per national curriculum. Private tutions to be abolished fortwith. Reservation system to be abolished and to introduce only on economic basis. Political parties : National parties only 3. State Parties cannot contest national election and national parties cannot contest state election. Fixed period of Lok Sabha and Assemblies. If there is no majority, then all party govt. wherein largest party will lead the Govt. on the COMMON MINIMUM PROGRAMME agreed by the single largest and second largest party. All international treaties will be introduced, discussed and ratified in Parliament. Without prompt discussions there should not be any single law passed or enacted. Can present polticians agree for it. No. That is why are telling that GIVE ATLEAST 5 YEARS TO MILITARY AND PUT CORRUPTED LEADERS BEHIND BARS, THEN INTRODUCE NEW CONSTIUTION AS PER THE PRESENT CIRCUMSTANCES, ALLOW DEMOCRACY after 5 years.

Intentions are good, But military should never rule, the only duty of military is to defend the boders and assist civil force when required.
Instead more educated people should come out and vote during elections than sitting at home nd enjoying the holiday. Democracy has its roots in its people and not leaders.
