This is a timely campaign by Greenpeace.In fact many countries in Africa have banned the incandescent bulbs. Many more countries are in the process of banning them. They are encouraging using Fluorescent bulbs.
India should learn from the African nations on how to implement the legislation and also enforce them.India should just ban the manufacture of incandescent bulbs.
The world over such bulbs are being banned in increasing numbers.These bulbs are proved to consume more energy and not savings friendly.Increasing energy costs are prompting nations to devise energy saving techniques and this is one of the campaigns which India should take seriously.
