nuclear deal can only be signed by BJP
by on Oct 07, 2007 07:45 PM  Permalink

Congress cannot sign nuclear deal, since theri partners CPI are tottally against the deal and against the US.

The Nuclear deal can only be signred by BJP who initiated the proccess of the deal. they will infact sign it in a better way, without compromising a couple of unacceptable points in the present deal.

LET BJP WORK ON IT.

Indo US nucleur Deal
by abhay ekbote on Oct 07, 2007 07:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The Indo US nuclear Deal is quite complicated. and unles and untill the pros and cons are well understood, it becomes meaningless to comment on it. there is also the Component of Hyde Act of the US and its implications need to be clearly understood. What is in the best interest of the Country should be spelled out clearly by the Italian Don. Further what are we as a nation going to loose? also should be clearly highlighted. If say we cannot go in for a second Pokharan Blast then it is a big drawback is it not? such issues should be spelled out clearly before the Public and Parliament. A healthy debate across all TV channels, media, etc would bring out clearly the benefits to Nation. Only then should the Italian Don and her chamchas can get a concrete Yes, or a No from the majority.

Dear Abhay without going into details I can tell you that there is nothing complicated about this deal.No one can stop us from conducting a second pokharan blast as and when we feel the dire necessity. Why USA ,even we can cancell this deal any time if we feel our interests are not being served by the deal-who can stop us from doing that. So we Indians irrespective of our party affiliations should support it- rise above petty things think of only INDIA

Why left want to stooping Nuclear Deal.
China is already become a Nuclear Superpower & Global power.
China is now world 3rd largest Economy after US& Japan and it will become biggest economy in the world by 2020 only.
China GDP is about three times larger than India, and its exports are eight times larger. China $4,800bn in savings dwarfs India $215bn.
China has $1,400bn of foreign exchange reserves, India has $221bn.

Certainly China is strong competitor that can give us run for money. We can deal with china our own way instead of being stooge to some other country's interest. The way we engage with USA should be way France & China deal with it.

N-Deal and Uranium
by Amit Arora on Oct 07, 2007 07:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If India don't seal this N-Deal then it will be impossible for India to get Uranium for New and old Nuclear plants.
Without signing Nonproliferation Treaty India can't get Uranium for Nuclear plants from any country in the world.
Australia has the world 60% of uranium reserves.
And without USA concern no one in the world will give uranium to India.
It is the best time for India to use USA and get uranium from his allies, after 20 -30 years India become so capable that it would not need USA for Nuclear plants.

Why depend on such a fuel? If we really need electricy by depending on US & Auz fuel. Ask them to build Nuclear plant on Sea & then supply that power to India instead of signing some 123 deal

THE BIRLA Institute of Technology, Mesra, has now invented a unique way to generate power and illuminate the rural areas of Jharkhand.

Funded by the Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Mumbai, the Mechanical Engineering Department of BIT has designed, fabricated and successfully tested a generator that an ox can run to light up 35 compact fluoroscent lamps (CFLs) for 18 households at a time.

The portable generator is easy to install and can run wherever required.

A team comprising two faculty members, Arbind Kumar and Vivek Kumar Gaba, and a seventh semester student, Ankit Drolia, worked on it for almost six months.

%u201CThe generator will cost Rs 4,500 and can also be used to charge batteries and cell phones and can generate enough power to run TVs and computers,%u201D Ankit said.

%u201CDesigning the generator was a part of the 20 projects funded by the KVIC for a period of five years,%u201D said Kumar, the project leader.

Most of the people discussing nuclear deal are totlly ignorant of the facts.India after 60 years of independence is still an immature democracy where all political parties keep their own interests above national interests and still are able to fool people. All indians should support this deal.

I do agree to your point that communists stand for the poor because W. Bengal after more than 25 years of left rule has almost maximum no. of poor as compared to other states.Bengal has seen minimum development and corruption is quite high. They are just an extention of China into India. BEWARE

No need of N-Deal - India becoming top global innovator: World Bank
by babu on Oct 07, 2007 07:22 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

India is increasingly becoming a top global innovator for high-tech products and services, says a World Bank report recommending new ways be explored to leverage the entrepreneurs and technologists of its diaspora.
Some two per cent of Indians living abroad together earn almost 2/3rd of India's GDP, notes the report - 'Unleashing India's Innovation'. It emphasises how creating and commercialising "new to the world knowledge", as well as diffusing and absorbing existing knowledge can help India to sustain faster growth.
To spur broad innovation efforts, more needs to be done to increase competition, build stronger skills, improve information infrastructure, and provide more public and private finance for R&D and its commercialisation, it says.
The world has acknowledged India's R&D potential and more than 300 multinational corporations have set up R&D and technical centres in India, said Isabel Guerrero, World Bank country director for India.
Innovation in India must be thought of as improving practices across the entire economy, the report said. While India is emerging as a top global innovator in sectors such as biotechnology and information technology, less than three per cent of the Indian workforce is in the modern private sector, while roughly 90 per cent remains in the informal sector.
The disparities in productivity levels across firms within manufacturing sectors is wider in India than in China, Mexico, the Russian Federation, and the Republic of Korea," said Mark Dut

by babu on Oct 07, 2007 07:24 PM  Permalink
Existing pro-poor initiatives need to be scaled up," said Mark Dutz. "Inclusive innovation can play a critical role in lowering the costs of goods and services and in creating income-earning opportunities for poor people.
Grassroots innovation networks should be formally evaluated and supported, and government programmes should promote more knowledge absorption in the productive sector and help extend the power of innovation to the common man.
To achieve this, the report recommends an increase in the fiscal and managerial autonomy of universities and colleges, and the encouragement of greater private participation in higher education.
Encouraging stronger competition among enterprises is particularly important. Since the Indian economy opened up in 1991, the vast majority of private sector investments in R&D were in sectors most open to competition.
The report calls for more intense competition among enterprises and suggests removing non-essential regulations in product, land, labour, capital and infrastructure markets. It also recommends making it easier for enterprises to take risks, and reallocating resources when new ventures don't turn out as planned.
It suggests the easing of remaining limits on small industries, restrictions on foreign direct investment, and barriers to import competition.

All US haters....please read this

Let me tell you something...After the second world war, Japan and Germany should have had the anger to destroy all Americans...but they accepted US nuclear power...and see where they stand now comapared to India.... If Germany and Japan can do this, why cant we do this with US... USA has never killed a single Indian citizen in combat... Then why blindly hate America? Why should we Indians care what America does in other parts of the world as long as they are a good friend of India.... Try to think on this...

Sonia (Maino) Khan a.k.a Antonio Gandhi

The Indian Media is definitely a slave of 10 Janpath else they would not talk about Raul Maino (also called Rahul Gandhi) who is a known mafia like his illustrous mother -Antonio Maino.

The media never reported this incident in early 2000's when Raul Maino was caught with $2,000,000 cash by FBI in Boston and later detained when Raul could not give sufficient/cogent explaination for this crime.

However such is the clout of Antonio Maino (nee Sonia Gandhi)...they gave FBI personal assurance of the then PM Vajpayee to release Raul...

Indian media completely blanked this crime and on contrary trying its best to force this ediot as PM on us...

LEFTISTS AND OPPOSITION ARE NOT AGAINST NUCLEAR POWER, BUT THE PRESENT AGREEMENT WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO INDIA!!
by wani bhardwaj on Oct 07, 2007 07:19 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Some people are misleading the public with their statements, because they don't know what is the question here: Nobody, even leftists are against NUCLEAR POWER. But question is the CONDITIONS ON THE NUCLEAR 123 AGREEMENT THEY SIGNED. US AND WESTERN PUPPET OF SONIA WITH THE HELP OF HER PUPPET PRIME MINISTER and some business minded corrupted leaders signed it without introducing it in our Parliament and discussing as THE SO-CALED PUPPETS OF WESTERN AND US POWERS are not interested to discuss it in the SUPREME PLACE OF OUR COUNTRY - PARLIAMENT. IF IT WAS INTRODUCED FIRST IN PARLIAMENT AND GET IT DISCUSSED IN DETAIL, PROPER AMENDEMENTS WILL HAVE TO MAKE AND SONIA AND MANMOHAN DOESN'T NOT WANT THAT HAPPENS DUE TO THE REASON BEST KNOWN TO THEM ONLY. So, my request THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MAKING STATEMENTS ON THIS ISSUE, please understand why MILLIONS OF INDIANS AND OPPOSITION / LEFTISTS POLITICAL PARTIES are against this 123 agreement. The present signed agreement once it is approved by the US Govt. is dangerous to India's soverginity and integrity and those clauses to be removed first. But alas, these people, particularly SONIA AND MAN MOHAN SINGH is ADAMANT TO GO AHEAD THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT ANY DISCUSSION AND APPROVAL FROM PARLIAMENT (THEY SHOULD REPLY TO THE PEOPLE ABOUT THIS). As per the present signed agreement once approved by US GOVT., India will be in trap and our Integrity and Soverginity will be in biggest danger we ever have. So please try to understand it and then makes
