Congress should stop bullying other partners of UPA, even covertly. Haven't you heard of the saying, "Those living in glass houses should not throw stones"? This is not to say that you can not get away bullying the Communists. In any case, they have earned the reputation of being the Barking Dogs.
That apart, as Siva currently holding an important position related to Atomis Energy has rightly pointed out, we need energy for our progress. However, despite his contention that atomic energy is the only answer, only a miniscule percentage of our energy supply is from atomic energy, the bulk being from Coal(not water). Safety consideration is not the issue as some people blow out of proportion. Availability of Thorium & Plutonium apart, the real issue is NOT the supply of enriched Uranium by US BUT the conditions attached to it. Even Anil Kakodkar has not fully clarified this issue. So, the apprehension is whether we are selling our internal security to US inreturn to their making available enriched Uranium to us.
The way the UPA govt is (mis)handling the whole issue taking things for granted, days are not far when we have a broken elastic since it has been stretched too much.

The question is not about nuclear energy. The question is do we support US or remain non alligned. At present we definately stand to gain since the country needs USA to maintain its momentum of economic growth. Along with nuclear energy host of other benefits will come to Indian industry. If stock market is the barometer of a country's progress than I believe investors are supporting the deal. last but not the least we cannot face china in military or industry. We need USA more than they need us.

Dear Ifthekar,
Please try to enter BARC campus and see if you can succeed, let alone going near the Plutonium plant inside the campus (unless you are working in BARC). When this being the condition, allowing the IAEA personnel (read US spies) to get the complete details of our Nuclear Program and agreeing to a host of other stringent conditions put forth by the US, is disastrous for the internal security. I am NOT against the deal itself, but against the terms & conditions of the deal.

I have worked in BARC, ask the people there if they are for or against the nuclear. The experts say that it is a must or we cannot do much in the future. Yes, some retired soviet era scientists like PK Iyengar are against it, but they are far from reality as they are now not even allowed inside the campus. Thorium is a dream which is dead, we need the deal.

Left will get flowers from our children and grandchildren for not selling India to others.
Congress(I) would be in shambles by that time.Indian voters will shoo away this mother and son run party.
Indians voters will give this woman a befitting reply. She has gone overboard with her back seat driving.
A law should be broughtthat atleast some stuctures made with public money must be named after Mhatma Gandhi,Patel,Shastri,Ambedkar,Netaji,Lajjpat Rai,Tilak,Naidu,Bhagat Singh,Narasimha Rao and other great leaders .Why we get only Indira,Rajiv,Sonia on and on?
The real problem is that we need energy for our progress. The oil and natural gas based fuel is depleting . India has to import fuel at an exorbitant cost. There fore the only answer is Atomic/Nuclear energy and we need to step up the atomic energy, and from renewable sources. Unlike alternative source of energy, Nuclear energy is available in concentrated form and the technology is well developed. Hence nuclear energy is the only solution in the near future. But we do not have adequate quantity of uranium fuel for generating nuclear energy. So if we do not make arrangement for fuel our reactors will have problem for the generation of energy. Not only that we need radioisotopes %u2013 which are the radioactive by products of nuclear reactor %u2013 for various applications in medicine (nuclear medicine investigation and therapy of thyroid diseases, and radiation therapy of Cancer) agriculture, Industry, research etc, So the nuclear deal is important

Looking at the pathetic condition of Koodamkulam plant and Kalpakkam plant, one gets suspicious. It is easy to praise deals till it is signed, but once it is in our hands, whoosh!!! there goes all the merits...So think before you cry for the mooon!

BJP and Congress do the same work, what feudalists done when East India Company came here.. Both of them are traitors.
There is no proof of historicity of Gandhi. The various movements attributed to Gandhi are works of mythology. British traders were persecuted in India and forced to leave.

Nehru and Ganddy families gave an ultimatum to the British traders, they trembled and they left yelping..So who is the father of your nation? Nehru.Who is the mother of your nation? Indira Rani.
