by ashok pai on Oct 06, 2007 01:59 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

forget petty politics. if the fundamental premise of promise is broken, that too in the open, after promising power its moral bankruptcy. kumaraswamy belatedly talks about bajrang dal and rss, dint he know that 20 months back ? please get rid of these political scum. let congress or bjp come into power. but not these.

Mr. Pai,
You are correct that these small, self-centred parties should not be given any scope to play like this. At the same time, it is BJP's mistake. In an attempt to cling-on, it has desperately sacrifised all it's morality. first Mayawati, then Jayalilitha & now Gowda.
Is it not irony that this are the same BJP/it's supporters who are crying now, are the ones who celeberated when gowda ditched congress under conditions which were more blatent than this?

Cheaters shpuld not be allowed to rule
by RAKESH DOGRA on Oct 06, 2007 01:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress must not allow JD(S) to rule even as care taker government.Present chief Minister has lost confidence of the house so he deserved to be thrown out immediately.

But Biggest cheater is HD Deve Gowda. Its a shame that such cheater was once prime minister of India.

But BJP and Congress are also responsible for such incidents.

These kind of traits are the main pre-qualifications and pre-requisites for one to flourish in politics!!!

Remember, Gowda (as PM of India) attended a conference in South Africa with 15 of his family members on tax-payers' expense?!?!?! Sharam usko karna chahiye jo izzatdaar hai!!! Yeh Bewda-Gowda tho be-izzat hai!!!

The root fo the problem is Nehru

Nehru opposed the 2 party system as he was scared that the opposition might become very strong and can't split. Now we are reaping that decision.

Silicon city is reduced to Silly Con by Politics
by Sundaresan R on Oct 06, 2007 01:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ethics in politics a big no. Proved time and again, neither the people learn nor the politicians. It is a shame that these people never allow us to stand with heads high. With so many MNCs setting up shops, this will only be hinderance adding up to the already prevailing aweful conditions of infrastructure.

It's a shame on the part of all citizens of karnataka. All the people are fooled by everyone. All the parties are waiting for their term and are equally worst in handling the things. Somehow we should avoid present kind of happenings. All non-karnataka people are making fun of us. Because of these politicians we have to cover our face infront of others.

I do not know to what extent it is true but it seems that at the common man/village level this joker(devgowda) has a lot of supporters ,as he has allowed the grass root workers to make a lot of money through various schemes. He is unpopular in the urban areas, where anyway people dont vote.He got a very good response in the Municipal elections.

If BJP with draws support Congree can extend support to JD S from outside if it does not want early elections throwing away the insults JD S heaped on it in the previous arrangement. If a fair thing has to come out since people have given a fractured verdict earlier now should be given an opportunity whether they want the same type of outfit or give a clear manadate either to Congress or JD S.

What A Democracy !!
by Venkat N on Oct 06, 2007 01:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Excellent show !

The parties which had got the second and third largest number of seats first joined together to form a Government, thereby preventing the party which got the largest number of seats from forming a Govt.

Then No.3 broke in order to give the CM's post to the heir apparent of their party. They took the support of No.1 and then entered into an agreement to give the CM's post to No.3 after the first half of the balance tenure.

Now No.3 has ditched No.1 after enjoying its stay in the top. Who knows, No.2 will again come and support No.3 to keep No.1 out.

Something (partly) similar happened in the Central Govt. in 1996 and one of the major beneficiairies of that game is also the key player / beneficiary of today's game.

Let us hail Indian democracy ! Some innocent may be telling that democracy is as per the will of people. Let us ignore such naive people and go ahead with our smart ways.

Well Said!! Legally this should be changed by avoiding the coalition government. The party with the highest no. of seats must be invited to form the government in case of hung assembly or parliament. There by govt will be free in taking decision and also to avoid such drama in future. I want the HC or SC should intervene and try to impose law.
