The pests
by Kabadan Y on Oct 06, 2007 01:27 PM  Permalink

What a foolhardy bjp is reduced to. All along the last 6 months both father and son were promising to transfer power and in the end back stabbed. You can't expect ethics in politics but not such a 3rd degree response from a former PM. Pathetic indeed!

Gowda's are so clever
by BahujanHitay BahujanSukhay on Oct 05, 2007 11:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear Friends, Gowda family is really clever in Politics. Without number father was Prime Minister and now son Cheif Minister. They deserve clap because politics is not a NoProfit-NoLoss business but for Power only and they have shown their skills in hanging onto power for long time. As long as they are not dividing people on religious, liguistic lines they should remain in power. But at no cost people should allow parties who will try to divide state on these lines. Thus Gowdas have proved their cleverness in Indian politics.

Nothing can be an execuse for betrayal. A head of state, whatever secular credential he has, can not be allowed to back off from his solemn pledge. At least you should abide by what yourself say. Do you mean that religious & linguistic problem of your partner has surfaced now & not during the last 20 months when you was engaged in amassing huge public money riding on the same communalist? People like Gowdas must immediately be thrown out of politics & governance. I'm sure the people shall do it in the coming days.

Simple solution to Gowda menace...
by Chandra Shekar on Oct 05, 2007 10:28 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Two parties have majority votes of the state. Congress 70 and BJP 80 . These two parties who represent majority of Karnataka people have become victims of a minor party led by Deve Gowds and his two sons who are very manipulative. If Karnataka wants really a representative government, then two parties having more number of representatives should come together and share power. There is nothing wrong in that. Both parties can keep their individual identity and party philosophy, but they can rule the State on a 'power sharing' basis. If this was done earlier, you wouldn't have had this ridiculous situation....Karnataka has become a laughing stock all over India because of this Gowda clan. They have become butt of jokes....Karnataka never had such idiots ruling the state. It's a shame that these two idiots brought such a disrepute to a wonderful state which has put India on international map.....Hope Karnataka people will organize rallies and demand an explanation by all representatives...there should be some public outcry, especially by the younger people. It's funny if there is some trivial reason (Rajkumar's funeral procession, Iraq war) all and sundry run onto city streets disrupting traffic, closing shops, schools, burning buses....but, in a crucial situation like this where the State leaders openly defy their moral obligation, no one is seen teaching any lesson to these goons. I guess someone has to rewrite...dharaNimandla madhyadoLage....song and add 'Devegowda nemba vya

Yes it is right both the congress and bjp should come togather in states and centre and keep these parties who blackmail them to rule it will save india and states from loosing crores of money on elections. otherwise as situation is today at centre and most of the states every two years there will be elections and no progress.

I understand....congress doesn't need BJP and vice versa. But, you have no choice....the only choice you had was Gowda's party and they exploit the situation again and again.....and Karnataka deserves better....By the way, use polite language when you reply...if you guys, supposed to be educated, behave like street thugs, using illogical, unrelated, arguments, and use foul language, how can you expect the ordinary people to use rationality when they exercise their franchise...Is it too much to ask of you guys to behave in a civilized way when you discuss issues? You may not agree with the postings...that's OK...You don't have to. That's what exchange of ideas is all about. Something good will come out of such exchanges only if you know how to conduct yourself in a pubic forum like this. If you blindly keep on repeating ...Congress will come to power, you are not adding anything to the discussion. It's simply your repeated view without any substantial contribution to resolve a complicated political stalemate. You keep harping on the issue of BJP communal. But, you do not talk about congress' strategy during elections. Don't they tell muslims and christians that they are better off with congress than BJP? In otherwords, if congress does something similar to what BJP does, in what way Congress is better than BJP? Why is that you feel good saying that BJP is communal and Congress is not. Isn't it a fact that congress uses the same strategy as any other political party when it com

We need to have a law that if no one party gets majority in the election, the tenure will be served all parties in proportion to the seats each one won. This way - A) We need not have re-election and waste public money. B) Government will expose the follies of the previous government. c) Small parties cannot come to power and fool the public even when citizens do not want them to come to power. d) During the next election, citizens can clearly compare as to with party did a good job in the previous term and vote accordingly.

The only drawback is long term policies may get affected slightly. But, the public can then bring the right party to power in the next election so that that is take care of. It would definitely be better than what we have currently - Which only breads corruption, maladministration, horse-trading etc.

Only congress has the oppurtunity to decide the future course of karnataka politics. They should ensure, elections in state, with out showing any kind of compromise with JDS. JDS should be kicked out of our state completely. Gowda's are casteists and bitchs. We nevere want our state ruled by them.

Karnataka Politics
by mahesh chander gupta on Oct 05, 2007 09:54 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In Karnataka there has been a alignment between secular and non - secular(as is propagated by vested interesed persons). Now JD(S) wants to break with its partners on ficticios grouns, just to retain power.
The major and foremost question which Karnataka and the whole nation must answer is " what is secularism" How different religions interpret this gig term. If BJP is non-secular then why JDS has gone for alliance/If BJP is non-secular why not it is banned because it is contrary to Constitution?
In fact,BJP is the only secular party which thinks of the national interest over any thing else.

-secular
