Friends, We are facing sad days all the recent years. Some are marked by sacrifices by our brave soldiers and some by the death of inncent citizens in jehadi terrorists activities. We wake up at times when rarely incident like this is published and again go for our work. But the families of the soldiers will never recover from such incidents. I pray to god to give the courage to mother of vinay and raman to face the sad demise of their sons... Let our army kill all the terrorists and their supporters mercilessly and finish the problem once created by our so called great leaders...! will our so called leaders wake up? they will never. Even media is so besharam that it publishes all the affairs of the semi-n*de bollywood babes and doggy affairs of so called celebrities..but never find place for the real heroes...all money minded

Mr. Shinde, People are mourning the loss of this soldier and saying how brave he was. There is no doubt that he was brave, more brave than anyone of us on this blog.
We are saluting his service, but deep in our hearts we feel better that we are not in his shoes or in the shoes of any of his family members.
This lip service we pay to our soldiers is an insult to their sacrifice. In fact we do not give a damn !!! Why are we not pushing for an effective solution towards the Kashmir Issue ? Why are we letting our leaders off the hook with failed policies over the last 60 years ?
The soldier did his part, where are we and what are we doing to help his cause ?
How can we let elections be decided on issues such as renaming a road or building a mosque/temple ?
Why can't be demand better governance and accountability from our leaders ?
This major is a casualty of our failed policies. And if we really want to honor his sacrifice, we need to hold our leaders accountable.
What is our plan for Kashmir ? What is our strategic Goal ? What tools are we using to accomplish that ?
Lets not be shallow in our thinking. It is time for us to honor the sacrifices of our heros and we can do that by demanding better policies.

Its realy bad to see great indian lifes are sacrificed for the lesser jihadi ones (available in plenty).. Its a great loss for nation to lose these experienced persons.. No words are enough to condole the family who lost their brave son.
People like you will never die, live for ever in true Indians' mind. Everytime we breath we will remember you. We will earn a lot, have all the laxuries but all these possible because of your sacrifice to our motherland. Our condolences to major's family.
No army would want its officers put at risk. Thats why there is a hierarchy and ranks. Even in a regular war the death toll of officers are low. I understand that the Indian army needs more active recruiting but when they are already shorthanded for officers, isn't it prudent not to let them die in a gunfight. What I mean is that their regular soldier must be trained better so that officers can get the same job done without putting themselves in front of the bullets. That is what officers are for. They are better trained so that they can train the soldiers in turn. Its a greater loss to let officers die before the jawans under him. Once the officer is down it creates confusion and chaos amongst the men. The army needs a very active recruiting campaign. As someone pointed out, they need to pay their soldiers better. Cricket stars and film stars make millions. How about a few extra thousand to the fighting soldier who works so hard just to stay alive so that he can die another day fighting for his homeland.
The government pays 1 Crore to people who hit sixers in cricket but the people who fight for our country in the defences services are the real heroes. Pay more than 1 Crore to these people. Yuvraj, if you read this then donate that 1 Crore to this family because they deserve it more than you.
