Self Interest is the order of the day!
by nivedita ravi on Oct 02, 2007 03:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Summary:
1.The Regime is strongly entrenched and will continue to do so.
2.India also has a right to pursue its interest just like USA manipulates its approach in different countries.
3.China is propping up the Myanmar Regime and India is justified in wooing the Myanmar to break even.
Conclusion:We need another Mahatma Gandhi to lead India out of this Rut!I am ashamed of this flagrant justification that India and its impotent government is peddling,FORGETTING SATHYAMEVA JAYATHE!
4.Aung San Suu Kyi is the only credible Leader "When the time comes".
When the Time will come???The Time will not come unless everyone wills ,including India.
5.India should stop giving speeches like MARK Antony in "Julius Ceaser" and learn to call a spade a Spade.
Enough of Hypocrisy,India. You need not emulate USA!

I hope that India finds its moral compass again. India's government risks becoming a tool of external financial interests, to the detriment of the people. Why is foreign wheat worth twice as much as Indian wheat?

THE GOLDEN LAND
by IYER_BUSINESSTOUR on Oct 02, 2007 03:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I have lived for some time in Myanmar four years ago. At that time there was no internet. People had to take an email id by paying money. Hotmail/Gmail/Yahoo does not open. There was no browsing. Only sending email from some existing account holder by paying him the charges like public telephone. I am happy to note that Hotemail / Gmail and others are now available. Mr Srinivasan says that internet is available. Internet is the tool for the growth of this century. So, how do the West say Myanmar is not developing?

Burmese are very soft, honest people. The administration is so good that you can carry any amount of cash anywhere in the mid of night and no one will bother you. People are helpful. I remember of having gone to Myanmar Industrial and Commercial Bank for an enquiry and the management was so helpful even though they spoke broken english.

The US wants their puppet regime everywhere. In the guise of FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY how many thousands of Iraqis have been killed? DO they have freedom now? They were more happy during the Saddam regime than the one they have now.

For heavn sake let that situation not occur any country again. Myanmar is a place which attracts many countries in the West for its untapped energy, gems and fertile land.

Let God give sense to the Burmese who feels that the West will give them everything. Let those people see how Iraqis who wished the same are sufferring now.

You don't really know what is happening in Burma.I'm a Burma born chinese .I raised up in Burma and I know about Burma a lot more than u do . Poverty in Burma has reached epidemic proportions . The corrupt and totalitarian military regime has bled the country to dry . Burmese people are in dire need of help . Every civilized nation has a responsibility to stand up for people suffering under the brutal regime like the one in Burma . It is not about the Human Rights and Democracy . It is about the surviving and freedom of the Burmese people . What have you done ? With your poor knowledge and narrow-minded views , you are not qualified enough to make comment about Burma . The Golden Land ? Or The Bloody Land ? Find out the answer by yourslef and improve your knowledge . Have a nice day !
