Unless we Indians understand the concept of smaller government, I find it difficult to be optimistic about a change in our daily lives.
Think about it, - The government is the biggest employer in the country - The government does NOT make any money, it collects money and then spends it in an un-wisely fashion (I am saying that in a very polite way)
We are still living in this seudo-communist state, where we think government is the solution to all problems. When infact, government is the root of all problems.
I will not blame any government here. It is the nature of the Beast. It is not the right institute to solve our nations problems.
Government will always pander to get votes, because it is a political outfit. We need less government and more private firms.
Private firms run on profits, THE BOTTOM LINE. They have benchmarks They are accountable They have to make profits (Share Holder investment) They are LESS prone to corruption They have leadership that is not pandering to any voting block They encourage competition, eventually to the benefit of the consumer They do NOT have reservations They reward hard work They FIRE lazy people
Agree, private firms cannot do everything. The nations defense, Tax collection, Judiciary and some other functions need to be with the government. Nothing more than that.
A bigger government is a recipie for discrimination, exploitation, corruption and FAILURE.

i agree with vaghelasv. all citizens of gujrat irrespective of their cast or religeon are availing the basic fascilities and necessities such as water, electricity, sanitation, eduction provided by the gujrat government. even a fool will appreciate the improvements made by modi during his tenure as a CM, as far as the basic necessities are concerned. the highways, water distribution system, and continuous power supply are the best in the country. and all people of gujrat including muslims and christians enjoy them, and aftr that bash modi and talk ill of him. i dont know who taught them this, i bet its not their religeon that teaches them all this but no doubt its congress. And all people of gujrat who read times of India, must be finding that the paper is a pioneer and supporter of modi bashing. every morning we find TOI bashing poor modi and misguiding the citizens of guj and trying to plant a seed of hatred in them. I wonder who is sponsoring all this.And its them and only them who are to be blamed for portraying a shady image of modi amongst citizens of India. C'mon guys we deserve another term of Modi as a CM. I think Modi will win the reelection at the end of this year and then all the rebels will be forced to reconcile with him. I believe Modi has strong grassroots support among Hindus, both upper and lower cast, and the opposition really represents a small minority.
Modi is the best CM india currently have. People areagainst him bcoz is he is not allowing curruption and he ask people to do work. Who ever will be in his opposition can not do much as he is going to won. He is true honest administrator. It will be india's luck if he can become PM of india.

Human Rights orgs are usually bought at a low price (FYI some have been under the IB scanner as to the source of their funds.) Also, Opposition politicians are just that: they OPPOSE anything. I have also seen Bosnian Muslim refugees shamelessly lying about Serbians. I have also seen people lying shamelessly in India. Only two things are clear: Muslims burnt a train killing lots of women and children. Then Hindus reacted violently. In the resulting riots, mostly Muslims were killed, but many Hindues also died.

Human right watch is not havingmuch significance itself you can see old example of sikh rights, china T Square stuff, Iraq, afganistan. All uses human right as per their profit or loss. Within chritinaity there is a caste system.
In Tamil Nadu, Nadar christians marry Nadras.
In Kerala, Syrian chritians Marry only the same caste and not they marry sc or other lower caste.
In Andhra, Reddy chritians won't marry Reedyy.
I think,if you are educationaly discriminated then you have progress against the socalled caste and not spread hatred compaign against Hidus as a whole.

If you call christian denomination is a caste, what it is generally called all over the world is society. What you say is true....but the key difference is there is no discrimination in christianity. A SC christian and a nadar christian and a white christian all hold hands and take communion together. Can you ever imagine that in your temple?
