SC
by Ganesan Venkatasubramaniyan on Oct 01, 2007 11:50 AM  Permalink

Mr. Karunanidhi has never been in his aggresive mood - raising against SC - even in cases like Cavery issue, Mullai periyar issues, which are really worth fighting and which are really for a cause. Build bridges and cannals bring in the much needed revenue to the party and associated people and that has been the driveing force for all. Its has gone to such an extend that after tarnishing the God they have already shredded the SC orders (people's order is much important that any order is the argument)!

Enjoy!

TN Govt's Bandh on 01.10.2007
by Isty on Oct 01, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink

The verdict of Supreme Court is historical. It should be a lesson to all Political Parties that organize bandhs without considering the plights of its Citizens. I had already said that The TN Govt. under the Leadership of Karunanidhi will certainly be defeated in this RAM SETHU Issue. This is the first Slap. The next slap will be around December, 31. If all goes well, the TN Govt along with its allies, Congress both at Central & State Level will go out of sight of Indian Public for the next 20 years. I will certainly achieve this goal & I am set to do what I had said. I will certainly defeat this Congress Government at Central & AP and DMK Govt in Tamizhnadu in the Next Mid Term Elections likely to be held any time between March, 2008. I will do all my best to mobilize and motivate people to vote against Congress and elect another best person who will respect all Religions, Castes & Creed.

TN bandh: Supreme Court pans govt for flouting order
by kldhawan on Oct 01, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink

TN Chief Minister should respect court order. Since he has not done it, people should retire him. He appears to have lost control on himself.

Though the Supreme Court had asked TN Govt not to go ahead with the bandh, in most of the places, the DMK functionaries were seen going around the places in auto rikshaws fitted with PA system (on the night of Sunday) announcing about busses not plyin on Monday. This was AFTER the court's order and was captured by many TV channels too. Is this not contempt of court by the TN Govt? What will the Supreme Cort do now? Will the UPA dissociate itself from the DMK and its local allies for this "contempt of court" or will it shamelssly continue the alliance?

Supreme Court did ask the TN Govt to deposit 100 Cr rupees for use in case the bandh is implemented and normal life gets affected. Has it been done? Who will monitor how this money be utilised?

This is the case of the Govt taking its citizens to ransom. Only in India it would happen and after some hue and cry, loss of some lives in the violence, life goes on as if nothing happened. Shame on the part of the Govt, the politicians.

It would be interesting to see how the Supreme Court would act now.
