Proud Indian
by Roopa on Oct 01, 2007 01:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I am a proud Indian with SC taking the matter very seriously and going to the extent of asking why not the Center dismiss the State Government in this scenario. This should have happened decades back, but better late than never. The strikers/party should be made to pay for any inconvenience to the public or any damage to the public and private property - not from the public's tax paid money, but from the individuals/party. The self styled saviour of public exist in all the states - Karunanidhi in TN, Deve Gowda in Karnataka, CPM in WB, Mayavati/Mulayam in UP, Lalu in Bihar, Sharad Pawar in Maharashtra, etc. Whatever happened to Duty, Dignity and Discipline, the mantra that Karunanidhi loves to preach; loves to proclaim that he follows that as the teachings from his mentor Anna. But Karunanidhi has made sure that there is at least one true follower of his ideals - H.D.Deve Gowda. Public is watching everything. Public should stop voting for goondaism based politics. Vote for independents if the party candidates are not good. Also no MLA or MP should be allowed to change parties either alone or by group (how muchever be the size of the group). If anybody wants to change parties, let that person resign, recontest from the new party and new ideology (if at all any party has) and then go back to Assembly/Parliament. This one-third of the group switching loyalties is not done. Good job done by Supreme Court, but lot more needs to be done. Congratulations SC.

TN bandh: Supreme Court pans govt for flouting order
by balajee ks on Oct 01, 2007 01:41 PM  Permalink

We, the majority, are law-abiding people living in India run by "no-law-abiding or rather law/court order flouting" politicians. The grim situation is not something peculiar to Tamilnadu. It happens in every part of the country. At the time when the Hon'ble Supreme Court passed the orders banning the bandh, the unholy political alliance in Tamilnadu has decided to carry on with the Bandh backed by or rather armed with the support of Political unions/party cadres who if let loose or at the slightest instigation will set the whole state on fire and destruction. This is more horrible than terrorism. The law/court order violators are the majority in every walk of life and therefore the majority has the say or way. They have the tacit support or approval from the ruling party and its allies. If the Centre resorts to Art.356 to dismiss the Karunanithi Govt., the next minute, the Union Govt. run by the Congress and its allies will collapse. The individual and personal agenda of the political parties and their leaders will be in shambles. Naturally, TN Govt. will not be dismissed. Even PM has his own ambitions to stay put come what may. Noboby except a few conscience minded public and persons from judiciary, will be there to lament and bemoan the state of affairs of the country, India, the great Bharat for which people from all walks of life, including Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel etc. died and lost their personal life. It is a shame that it is happening on the eve of Gan

For this reason itself this DMK should be rapped yet again...as it has such stubbornly arrogant minded "Eklavyas" roaming around and spoiling the good name of TN.
