Reading messages posted on the site shows a wide diif between the actual 123 Agreement and the cause of it. The BJP had almost agreed on the nuclear deal before , why are we opposing it now. It shows double standard. Our Prime Miniter is a great Man, and he should not be ridiculed like this in public. A Man of Honour. and respect. If we cannot give respect to this great man, what respect can you expect from others. Atleast respect the post they carry. It is not easy to run a country, and whether he is a puppet or not, is best left to views undisclosed. You need not wash dirty linen in public. Hail Manmohan Singh!
July18 2005 agreement said-agreement between two responsible Nuclear nations confirming equal rights and benefits to both of them (words something equal to that) Later agreement, negotiations are wide off from this statement/guiding principal. Later on several lobbying,high-profile visits this and that. I am just pasting comment from another reader whose concerns seems to be closest to overall apprehensions:

If at all US and team accepts the condition set by India, then what is the assurance that they wont twist the hand in between?.
The whole agreement is regarding for the Nuclear energy for Electricity. If we switch over from conventional to Nuclear and the supply is affected what will be the condition then?
Classic example of US patronage for Alqaeda and hunting for them.

How many times does it has to be said? The problem is if PM goes ahead with the deal, Left threaten to withdraw the support which mean fall of UPA government. As i understand, PM is even ready for that. but the chance are if UPA government become a minority government, the countries which are part of NSG will not wave the restriction. there argument will be Indian Government has o mandate to execute the deal. If that happen it mean PM losses deal as well as Government.

While it is very clear that USA is trying to get a foothold into India, purely to negate China, and at a later date fix impossible demands to fulfil the way it is happening to Pakistan right now, we must bear in mind that this agreement is necessary for India for our Power requirements and without this agreement it is going to be impossible to fulfil the Power requirements of the country. All the parties must approach this issue with national interest in mind and help the Govt to fix adequate safeguards instead of politicising and obtaining milege out of this issue.

Nuclear power is the worst form of power you can generate, especially in a highly populous country like India. After all, where in India can one dispose of all the nuclear waste disposed of without causing huge outbreaks of cancer. I think we need to look at Baggasse, agricultural and farm waste, and even human waste as viable fuel sources for a country like India, as it is very feasible in India. Maybe we should even look at possibilities like biodiesel powered generators. But extensive construction of nuclear reactors and nuclear power is a complete no-no. We do not have land to waste to nuclear waste disposal/ contamination.
The statement of the PM is just election tricks. He or His Govt cannot do NOthing on this. Remember; the same PM was ready to throw his chair few days ago for the sake of this agreement and was trying to press the allies. He is a pupet in the house of Madam white and she has a seperate Agenda.
Now that with a slighest nod from their end he is showing off . He surrendering India to USA.
If one immagin to carry out any more nuke test in this country, it can only be accomplished in BJP Raj

there is no doubt that 1998 Nuclear test was carried out by BJP. But when some BJP support bosting that only BJP can do thing is really laughing staff. First testing was done in 1974 and that time BJP not even born. It wasn't BJP government which made the bomb, it was Congress government. Bombs were ready. what BJP did is carried out the testing. Otherwise any sensible man know that you can't do nuclear testing in ONE MONTH. I am not pro congress neither anti BJP. but fairness require that credit should goes to right person or a government. Yes congress government made the Bomb but back out from testing under American pressure whereas BJP did not come under american pressure and that we should appericiate.

Anybody can make N-bomb if knows technology. This is job of scientist. One should have guts to take decision to explode the N-bomb. This is job party in power. BJP did it.
