Dirty Politics!!
by Ismail Sayyed on Nov 29, 2007 11:17 AM  Permalink

The BJP is trying to fish in murky waters. The BJP is not a party that had fought for freedom of speech or expressions. The BJP and its supporting units had vandalised many art exhibitions depicting Hindu gods in poor light. The BJP had keep out in strong opposition to Deepa Mehta's Fire.

Artists should have the right to paint and write their inner feelings, but that should not be at the cost of hurting the sentiments of people. What kind of artistic creation did the artist want to put up by drawing offensive pictures of Hindu gods? If you have a talent in you, you should know how to use it in the right manner.

Taslima is on the run for hurting sentiments of people where she was born. India provided refuge and protection. Instead of thanking India for the support, she is reloaded with even more fiercesome remarks on a minority community. Why do we need to provide her protection when she is all geared up to create friction among the different communities of India?

The BJP should not paint this situation with political or communal colours.

Double Standard!!
by Contractor on Nov 28, 2007 10:17 AM  Permalink

All these parties including BJP stand up against the Bangladeshi immigrants who only come to India to get livelihood...its another story that we ourselves are a developing nation and cannot carry their burden. So i agree that bangladeshis are not wanted.

But this same party is supporting Taslima who is an immigrant herself and has come here since her country has thrown her out, unlike the other immigrants. These same BJP is now supporting her and inviting her to India. Why??? just because she is perceived as anti-muslim??? and more importantly elections are near.

Does Mr. Modi wants to win election on the basis of a bangladeshi immigrant issue???? does it mean that the people of gujarat will choose a government if it is ready to support Taslima???

Think over these questions people. We want to become a developed nation. All elections in developed nations are fought over economic policies, health, infrastructure and environment issues. I know for a fact that in Ealing (US) the ruling party MP was made to resign because he asked his secretary's mother be given preference in getting her travel documents.

Shame on us Indians on fighting on such nonsensical issues and electing governments on foolish agendas. Lets come out of this and let these politicians know that we will not be fooled again. They have to perform to remain in power and not come up with foolish emotional issues.

Chhote Sardar!!
by Contractor on Nov 28, 2007 09:51 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is a clear fact that only that region develops at best pace in which people live with peace and a feeling of security in themselves but in gujarat both this things are not available because one man in gujarat is not allowing it to happen. People here in the state have no faith in each other as Goverement is spreading feeling of hatred amongst them as they are not allowing all the religions to come togather. It is fact and we also believe that only NARENDRA MODI SHOULD WIN BECAUSE IF HE DOES NOT WINS THEN HE WILL REPEAT 2002 AND MANY MORE PEOPLE WILL DIE IN THIS STATE.
I request you to vote for MODI or else he will again kill hundreds of our minority brothers and sister and many young bloods of the majority will been put behind bars if we didn't support modi..

Before requesting such thing about voting to Modi with such a bloody reason u enhance ur genral knowedge about the development work that is done by him and compare them with the work of other political parties CM. Abusing other without knowing original facts is too easy for u people. I m from Gujrat and have seen the arena of Congress and Modi as well and easily even any one who have even little commonsense can differentiate the thing.Congress Comunist and other besides BJP has what type of bloody politics on the name of communalism, secularism and gandhigiri has done is watchable and to be understood. but Perhaps u cant because as congressi and comunist is abusing others without knowing the facts u r one of them

Jai Hind!!
by Contractor on Nov 28, 2007 09:50 AM  Permalink

I am being honest when I say that I did not know of any hatred based on religious distinctions till 1992. Then it dawned on me and so many other young ppl in India the meaning of religion and why they have to hate other communities. Then the years after 1992 have been filled with terror and atrocities. India was more or less a peaceful country with perhaps a few stray incidents here and there, till this communal party sowed hatred and took the naive people of India for a ride by sowing insecurity about our religion in their hearts. A pity that they were successful partly going by the posts here. But the saving grace is that I and some of my ilk have seen through their ugly and cowardly agenda. I hope that more ppl are bestowed with the faculty of distinguishing between good and evil. We were a peaceful nation with people of all religions existing happily. Let us be that way, and tell the world with pride that India is sucha diverse nation, yet united. Let's put a stop to the saffron mafia's diabolic intentions. Jai Hind!

Special movie theatre for screening ''objectionable'' movies..
by Rakesh on Nov 28, 2007 08:24 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In each city we need one multiplex that will have simultaneous shows of the following:
1. Movies based on Taslima's and Salman Rushdie's books
2. Deepa Mehta's Fire and Water
3. Da Vinci Code

This will likely bring out unemployed fanatics of all three religions out on the streets. Some of them will likely do nasty things like threaten, vandalize etc. Once on the streets such people should all be taken into custody by special "liberal" police. They should not be released from the jail until they see the complete movie they are protesting against.

Modi has real courage
by Biswajit Ghoshal on Nov 28, 2007 08:14 AM  Permalink

...compared to the croons and cowerds in congress and CPM. Indian and WB govt must not bow to the threats of some fundamentalists. On the other hand if the Muslim men feel they have been slighted by Taslima, they should call her to a debate and prove her wrong. Threatening for life is a crime and I feel ashamed when I see that both WB and Indian govt are cowerding away by such silly threats.

Taslima & Congress
by Govinda on Nov 28, 2007 08:08 AM  Permalink

Here one point is very correct. Why congress is not daring to protect Taslima? Reason is vote bank - Nothing else! This is called pseudosecularism. Appeasing for votes but in principles nowhere! You can fool --- but not all the time. Show boldness otherwise Muslims in India will never become secular.
