I personally rate Women far superior to we men. She is the one who can bear all pain and suffering to give birth to we mens.
Taslma taking shelter in India for her life is not the question. She must stop writing against any religion.
if you are talking about female, I was so ashamed myself to see how a female was stripped and beaten in Indian streets yesterday. one have to rise voice against any crime to any humans and specially to females, handicaped and poor irrespecitive of region, religion and caste

You people Tahalka( that is in fact religion based sting operation), You people against Taslima. You people support Karunanidhi. You people support M F Hussian.
If women were stripped and beaten then who is responsible? there is a govt who is there to prevent it. Again there is govt which is having ladies priminister and president and same govt in that state. these ladies didn't rise any voice against this incident.

You ? are you not a part of us? You are sonali. My views are as a INDIAN citizen. and you too are a Indian citizen first.
When i saw Tahalka first, i thought thats a revolution which will purify many things. But later found that, our politicians and religious leaders use it under their control.
I am not against Taslima as a women or one who speaks against crime to womens. I am against she speaking against any religion.
Government and our ministers, they are busy filling up their bank accounts. more important them is the passing the bill of holding posts and having foreign visits to enjoy in AC hotel luxuries.
I'am a Hindu and I always believe, prosperity only resides where females are respected. But I dont want an outsider to come into india and divide us.

Who are you to say that??? She has written what she has seen that religion do to women inher country. If some MCPs and swines dont like it, you can't gag her. You are no different from the killers of Van Gogh.

karunanidhi is a elected representative ( chief minister) whereas taslima is not.

So he should be punished more severely than Taslima. An elected person utterance should be more careful than an individual.

Thats rightly said. Taslima being a outsider, we can think of throwing it out of our house. But karunandihi, we cant do that, as no neighbours will accept shit from house to be thrown at their premised.
Only way left is to bury him into some barren land. Please dont use any land which can be used for agricultural purpose.

Elected representatives need to be more careful while issuing statements... bcos he is representing 6 crore tamilians... he should keep his presonal views aside before making statements...

Both the cases are diffent. If Tasleema did had a Indian nationality, Nobody must had right to deport her.
But why we too are behaving like others. We have enough problems within our house, let us clean it up first. If you treat India as a society, each religion have to be a house. and we must understand how to have a peaceful society respecting each other and dont interfering in what others do inside their house.
First there is no "freedom of expression" unless there is "freedom to say something that someone disagrees". If you want to say something where you do not disagree or that does not hurt anyone why do you need the "freedom of expression".

The book (Lajja or Shame) basically deals with atrocities committed against women by men in the name of Allah, Muhammed and Koran. The book is fictional and at no time (unlike Rushdie's Verses) does it have a direct, indirect, allegorical or metaphorical attack on Islam or its prophet in an insulting manner.
The thin skin of these guys surprises me taken the fact that even killing people (including their prophet) is not beyond them.

Thanks to Vijay. Actually forgot periyar and his scathing criticism of hinduism, its gods and its practices. If a muslim turned hindu would read it I fear his mental state.
You should have that tolerance from your childhood to accept something that periyar had written. Hinduism did accept it.
Or there is a writer called Chalam in Telugu whose criticism is equally scath.
Periyar and Chalam would make Rushdie and Taslima look like Disney characters.

How different is (Taslima) this from what the Prophet himself did a couple of hundred years ago when he broke statues of other religions.
This looks like insecurity of a gang of people who do not want to be done unto themselves what they have done to others.
Of course all you need to assume that Taslima is the new Prophet. Peace be upon her.
This has been proved again Govt falling against the pressure of minority fundamentalist just for the sake of vote bank.
In this country terrorists can freely roam and execute their plans. Lacs of illegal muslim migrants can stay here, but if someone need asylum this is how Indian gove behave. Shameless fellows
The centre needs to take a stand and not move taslima from pillar to post. Leave relegion leave out politics. They are never going to understand and meet at a common point. One divides and uses the other.
If India decides to give her asylum then we might as well give it with dignity.

You think Islam freaks 'read'??? are you crazy?? u think Iranians issued fatwa against Rushdie after reading Satanic verses?? uh uh not done..it seems the Danish cartoonist is a real sonovagun and defies terrorists openly...even rationalism needs martyrs..Islamism cannot be neutralized without martyrs !

Is that anyway affecting us deepak. why the hell we Hindus show so much interest on their religion.? being a educated citizen, we must understand what to be accepted and what to be ignored. What you do to a dog barking on you? If it is on road, we ignore it, if it enter into your house, you break its legs. What you do to a pig eating shit.? do you feel like even looking at it? NO
