This initiative is really a great relief for the women communters of Mumbai. There is a great demand for such services in other Indian cities also. Any intelligent entrepeneur having the guts to enact the same strategy in other cities also ?

What is abusive about this posting.
Though I have nothing against Women Drivers, I think is a foolish plan.It will just add to the already clogged roads.They should actually encourage women driver on the already existing Taxi Services. By the way who is going to protect the women drivers. Any way it (the taxi service) will go flop in a few months

If every one is left alone men/women to carry out their duties then there is no need of such moves. but it is the men (including the police) who abuse the women not the other way around. just walk in the street one day and make observations you will soon realize how much women are harassed in every aspect of life day and night.
lekin sarkar ke upar inki surksha ki jimmedari bhi badegi mere khaiyal se ye agar mumbai me rahe to thik hai lekin agar enhe coll center jaise let night picup or drop jaisa kam karna pada to surksha ki drusti se problems ho sakti hai mai to sajest krunga ye sirf din me hi kam kare

Then those men should be hanged in the public or to the minimum castrated. it is the men making life difficult for these women.
This shows how far behind we, the Indians, are compared to develped countries! On one hand we are talking of India becoming an superpower, on the other we are going backwards by distinguishing so vividly between men and women. What if someone launches taxis for men only? I am sure this will draw more unwanted attention to female travellers in these taxies. This just symbolizes women's lack of trust in men, or may be it shows the poor state of our law and order, or our social setup so that an woman cannot travel safely in a taxi driven by a male driver.

There are a multitude of cases where in Women have been molested especially in Metros when they tried to travel alone in the night. In India atleast women cannot safely travel alone in a taxi driven by men in the night. 1. Men taxi drivers drink and drive 2. They have tie ups with highway robbers(Not saying women taxi drivers dont but the probability is less). 3. There are cases of Callcenter Cab drivers raping women for late drop offs.
So as far as India is concerned this is a good move. There is nothing wrong with all Woman taxi drivers as long as men are also allowed to ride into it and pay the regulated fare. Nice Move I would say.
It is a good news and good for Ladies too who travels alone. Moreover, Woman should be respected in the society. They are the most beautiful things created by the God and if they going to takeover mans job, then they should be promoted and supported.
