What if she did
by Hitesh Sharma on Nov 23, 2007 02:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why are we defending that Taslima did not write anything against Islam????

What if she did Should she be killed. You mean to say no one should write against Islam.

Where is freedom of expression.

Do you know whats Azaan everytime when Azzan is made its declared that there is only one god thats Allah. So should we not stop the Azaan.

Muslims should learn to live peacefully with people who do not suscribe to their ideas and idiologies.

This is Shameful. kill Rushdie kill Taslima. Where is tolerance and logic.

Taslima's running from WB TO RAJSTHAN and now to Haryana / delhi is a shameful event for indian democracy and Rulers of indian democracy are Congress and CPM ...

All are bowing down against pressure of minorities ..where is freedom of speech and to write truths ?

Presently only Minorities are deciding who will rule india ?

over all voting percentage is 50 % maximum but
...Minority voting percentage is 100 % and it comes to more than 30 % out of 50 % average voting ...

so congress , CPM , LALU ..FALU ..GOLU ...ANY funny selfish wrong ppl can win easily and can rule on majority Hindus ...

this is fact of indian democracy.

i know , all are agree to this fact.

M F HUSSAIN CAN DO ANY THING ...no problem to him by any body ..he is enjoying freedom of art ...no punishment for doing wrong pics of Hindu gods ...he is doing it again n again ...
Govt is doing any thing about him but ...making move against Taslima ..making her to Run like a criminal /...what is this ?

Its a matter of shame for the concerned authorities that they are not able to protect a women.
by brijinder khurana on Nov 23, 2007 02:07 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In our country the politicians are celebrating Women's Day, Girl's Day. They talk about protecting Girl Child from abortions etc. etc. But what about a Women, who is running from one place to another to save her rights? It clearly shows that in case you speak the truth or you speak about your views, you can not live with peace. Every politician is reading the news about Taslima Nasreen. Atleast Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Mrs. Renuka Chowdhry should come forward to save her from communist ghosts.

Secular India
by Shamik Ghosh on Nov 23, 2007 02:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

As a citizen of secular India I know how to respect all the religions ... secularism does not teach anybody to degrade 1 religion be it his/her own religion or other religion ... so those defending Taslima Nasreen on the basis of secularism should go back to the definition of secularism first !
Those defending Taslima becos of "freedom of expression" ... they should go back to the fundamental ... an artist has some liberty but cannot hurt anybody's sentiment ... if by expressing his/her own views in public a whole community is hurt, then Indian constituition does not offer the freedom to exprees such ideas !
Taslima Nasreen is an unwanted guest in India !
However I do not support the violence that is rocking the cities including Kolkata ... anybody who is indulging in violence should be punished severely so that it becomes an example for the future rioteers !!! I think shoot to kill license should be given to police when anybody is caught instigating violence or committing violence like this !!!

Shamik,

Another thought. People condemning Child Marriage, Widow Burning, Inter caste marriage, caste system (this is a big one), are all hurting the religious sentiments, as these were part of Hindu religion.

Should they all be punished and pushed out of country?

I am mentally distressed, unwell: Taslima
by James Bond on Nov 23, 2007 02:02 PM  Permalink

Taslima is ill-treated for no reason. Buddhadeb Bhattacharya realized that Nandigram issue is hotting up and getting attention of entire nation. So, to dilute the seriousness, he wanted another issue. He took help of muslims outfits present in Kolkata and Tasleema was sent out of the city. Muslims outfits want that Tasleema visa should not be renewed and thus this protest.

When these fanatics were burning public property in Kolkata, why Bengalis remain quite? Oh they are secular so any kick on their ass can be well accepted. The term Bengal tiger does not fit into a Bengali man.

Blasphemy
by Hari on Nov 23, 2007 02:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In her book Lajja, Tasleema never criticised Islam. But still Muslims oppose her.
I wonder, how many muslims know what she wrote in her books ??

When someone writes about some people who belong to a religion and some people object her stay in their place and govt succumbs, media keeps mum, WHAT ABOUT a person who makes nude pictures of deities of a religion and when people object it, govt used force against them and media calls them communal ?

Are we living in a democratic country ?

Forget about secularism. I believe India is radical Islamic country.

After so many years, India belonged to Hindus(Thanks to English for granting us Independence and Jinnah to create separate country for Muslims and Hindus) but our traitor media and politicians again put India where it was in 1192 (Lets say early 600 century)!!!

Hey what if she did???? Should she be killed. Should she be thrown out of the country. Is writing against Islam crime. If no one will point out how will the religion evolve for the better.

Why defend that she did not look at the broader picture

What did Taslima write about Islam?
by Natesh on Nov 23, 2007 01:56 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I know so many things are said in the press about Taslima. Many muslim outfits have called for a fatwa against Taslima, even sitting MLA's in Hyderabad have physically assaulted her. I just like to know what she said that offended Islam and muslims. I have asked many muslim friends if they had read her books or know what exactly she conveyed in her books. 99% of people who oppose her dont know what she has said in her books. By word of mouth people assume that she said bad things about Islam and asking for action against her. I would be happy if someone in the forum who read her books can clarify what Taslima has said.

I have read the English version of "Lajja", the book that is in the middle of the whole Taslima Nasreen controversy. Its not so much a criticism of Islam as it is an indictment of Bangladeshi Muslims and the Bangladesh regime of 1992 which stood aside when thousands of Hindu temples and other Hindu property were destroyed in the aftermath of the Babri Masjid demolition. It chronicles the events of Hindus in Bangladesh being tortured and killed after the Babri Masjid riots and the government's plus the common Bangladeshi Muslim's apathy and sometimes even complicity towards these events. It also tracks Bangladesh's metamorphosis from a secular nation as conceived by Bangabandhu Mujibur Rahman into an Islamic republic. Finally it is the story of a 4 member Hindu family(man, woman, son and daughter) who are secular and unbiased and are true Bangladeshis at heart - they resolve to stick to the nation of their origin in spite of the numerous odds they face in life and the discrimination that is doled out to them because they belong to a minority community. Finally when the daughter is carried away by unknown persons, obviously Muslim, and their neighbours instead of sympathising with them suggest that they would be happier and safer in their "home" country (namely, India), they decide to leave Bangladesh forever and migrate to India. I can understand Bangladeshi Muslims being angry with her for writing such a story and hounding her out of Bangladesh but not Indian Muslims. Are Mus

i know a bangladesh hindu family who said they are treated in bangladesh as second grade citizens and their women can not go in public with tilak in face and all hindu temples were destroyed. why indian govt do not bother about this. similar is the situation in malaysia where many hindu temples were destroyed. compare with indonesia where they glorify hinduism and even did not change many names and recently they introduced a 200 ruppiah currency
note with lord ganesh as icon as finance minister of indonesia said 'lord ganesha will remove obstacles of our difficulties in finance.'
indonesia is the only soft muslim country which has still followers of hinduism in bali island
and now many muslims in west java are converting back to hinduism as it promote them
tourism industry in this island by renovating
hindu temples in java while bali island is 100%
hindus. this is good news. malaysia, bangladesh
in asia are fanatics of islam and hence hindus
are suffering in both countries.
