by arungopal agarwal on Nov 23, 2007 05:04 PM  Permalink

Well done SC in Pak, SC also works what the law permits it to do? Musharraf is smart enough to get the law amended in his favour, why he should give his seat of power.Democratic norms can be amended to suit owns requirement. as
In India also politicians play with law as per their suiting. But ours is not dictatorship, therefore their approach is limited comparing to Pak.

Supreme court acting against democracy, such things will happen only in Pakistan. The people of Pakistan will have to strive hard to proove that they are supreme.

May God Bless the people of Pakistan and give them strength to overcome the military rule.

In Pakistan the democracy has different definition i.e. "Democracy by Army,Democracy of Army,Democracy for Army".In the history of Pakistan ,the democracy has struggled to survive the greed of Army Generals who want to enjoy the Power at all cost.

Pakistan our neighbour.
by Ahi Sen on Nov 23, 2007 02:44 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

President Musaraf is a known politician in uniform and his priorities are not to engage in confrontation with immediate neighbors. However, Mrs. Bhutto or Mr. Nawaz Shariff are politicians who thrive on anti Indian slogans. Therefore, continuation of President Musaraf as president is desirable in the interest of Indian people and Indian business community.

I think you are forgetting Kargil here. Musharraf has shown that he would like to do anything to be president and all powerful in Pakistan. Sharif might have been corrupt but at least he believed in democracy.
