I find that some Hindu brothers have been led to believe that by hating muslims or non Hindus you will become a better Hindu. Read your religious scriptures or listen to the discourses on TV. Hindu religion does not subscribe hate and killings. Those indulging in such acts are committing crime against humanity and Parmeshwar will not spare you from being punished.

WHat a Pity!!
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP is so hungry for power that one feels sorry for them. Having tasted power once they just cannot wait to get back. All their predictions of mid-term elections since 2004 when they lost the election have come to naught. They will be well advised to change course, give up communalism, break their relations with the RSS, Shiv Sena and VHP, think in terms of nation's good and support the Govt on issues that are worthy of support and not oppose for the sake of opposition.
Opposition party in a democracy is meant to be a watch dog and not a compulsive opponent to oppose anything and everything that the Govt does.BJP should learn from the western countries from whom we have copied the system of parliamentary democracy..
India badly needs a good, efficient and disciplined opposition party and the BJP can fulfil; that role if they have the wisdom and will to do so otherwise they can sulk and make stupid statements like some of their leaders do and stay in wilderness..

Gujarat's Development!!
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:38 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The development you are seeing in Gujarat is not the handwork of BJP. India is developing very fast. This is because of the good reforms brought by Mr. Man mohan singh 10 years back. The speed of the development is same, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab was the best developing states in India due to their better resources. Still they are most developed states... and other states follows.. But now Karnataka and Tamil Nadu is growing fast.

So dont think that the development is occuring in gujarat is due to Modi.. It is due to Mr. Man Mohan Singh and congress govt. in centre and for Gujarat the Reliance played a great role.

ppl in maharashtra r the ones facing load shedding of power n even cities like mumbai (so-called shanghai makeover by the PM 'mannu') is not spared not to talk of remote rural areas.

this is the development of congress ruled states.
its the blind propaganda of ppl who r anti-modi n anti-gujarat who sees everything wrong in gujarat.

Yes, why should MODI win??
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:37 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

There is no valid reason for Modi - or BJP to win.

Because Gujarat:

* Does not want to get the dubious distinction of being branded as a state of Religious Fanatics

* Does not need a 'dictator' to achieve peace, progress and prosperity

* Does not want a leader who is not welcomed by dozens of developed countries of the world; Gujarat very much needs and wants to be a part of the global society, the global economy. In these times of rapidly increasing globalisation, Gujarat needs a leader with a truly international standing, and not someone who is internationally notorious.

While Modi repeatedly boasts of '5 crore Gujaratis' in front of the media every time he gets an opportunity to do so, everybody knows that in reality, he is only a bedfellow to 5 rich business houses. His sole concern is to make them richer, and nothing else.

People of Gujarat, unite, and

Show him up this time
Throw him out this time

Modi: all the assumptions are wrong.
state is WRONGLY branded as of fanatics      Modi is is WRONGLY branded as 'dictator'
U should stop those who did not allow a leader getting welcome from hypocrits countries.
first u compare the state of WB which is killing innocents in nandigram. u compare the dictator buddhadeb, the cm of wb.
3rdly he should be debarred entry not only by usa but also by china/Russia.

Hidden Agenda!!
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:36 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The RSS agenda is to maintain their caste haegomony instead of serving the Indian people
The RSS wants to portrey the so called contributions of ancient India as the contributions of a particular caste and not all the citizens of India. Just check and see how RSS wants to undermine Buddhism simply beacause it opposed the caste system. They insult Ambedkar who helped the Dalits stay with the Indian religions instead of crossing over to the Abhramic religions simply because Ambedkar wanted to bring down the caste system. They oppose all social reformers who try to fight the caste system. Their goal is very simple, it's maintaining the ancient caste supremacy rather than creating opportunities, respect and prosperity for all Indian citizens.

What A Shame!!
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:35 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP has lost whatever wee bit of credibility it had, because of Nathuram Modi. The whole world is spitting on the party now becoz of one anti social rowdy, goonda, mass murderer. I was an ardent BJP supporter. But I now have no political party in mind at all. It seems that the Congress is the alternative for me now. The very fact that BJP bigwigs have not thrown out the mass murderer is enough for conscious people like me to abandon the party. Such menial, low, cruel mass-murderers are still in BJP, and not even a word from the BJP leaders? What a shame!

centre was led by an old man called bhajiyapayee spineless person. and the state is led by iron man of modern india narendra modi.

Well Done!!
by Tataghata Mukherjee on Nov 25, 2007 09:34 AM  Permalink

People who have committed crimes against unarmed civilians in eastern Europe have been tried in the International Court of Justice and sentenced. Modi's crime is also of the same nature and scale. The Gujrath carnage is a clear indication of the failure of state machinery to protect unarmed civilians. Nobody need expose BJP; the very comments apperaring in its favour on rediff is a clear indication of an emerging fascist force that will do anything to further its agenda of religious fundamentalism. India is adrift ideologically. Only a strong leader like Nehru/Sardar Patel can stem this tide of increasing communalisation of polity and politics. At the ground level the saffron activists are lumpen elements; at the top are pseudo intellectuals -- a lethal combination as far as minorities are concerned. One only hopes that the Supreme Court steps in to uphold the rule of law by punishing the guilty, be they ever so highly placed. We are living in a globalised world and the consequences of that are inescapable. Eventually Modi will stand trial when international pressure builds up. The US denial of visa was a small step in the right direction. One admires the courage of Tehelka and Teesta Setelvad in times like this to risk their life and reputation in defence of the truth
