what can be more terrible that a person has to end his life because he does not have belief in life, and the number of such incidents add up to 150000. If any of your readers have any good suggestion to do something good then lets work for this serious problem
First of all we cannot say that this date produced by Rediff is reliable. And second, people are concentrating more on manufacuting industries comparing to agriculture. Hence, agriculture industry in india needs modernisation. Any Govts who are holding positions in the center should plan towards modernisation.
If 1.5 lakh businessmen would have committed sucide, imagine how much hungama would have been created. manmohan singh would immediately rush for damage control and grant every wish a business man demands.
the center govt is ready to give the highly earning muslim communities thru SACCHAR committee....while it is not willing to go on the unemployed and poor farmers of the Hindu community...

It's a very shameful that india is facing such a crisis. There's no way today in india that would help farmers to make there life. Each one of them is drawned in huge debt that is not payable until and unless government do some action.
I would like to wish congratulation, SMS, Sonia and government of India for this great achievement. I hope This numbers will multiply several times under your good governance in coming day.
I thing u r not educated, till 2004 Vajpayee is our prime minister, it is bjp govt, really uneducated lady. without any knowledge dont send any message.

What Indiraji told the Congis was GARIBI HATAO but her new generation followers want GARIB HATAO Mission; it is in full swing; Even the vegetables are selling at minimum 15 rupees for 500 grms(seer) but still the farmers are not benefiting out of this price hike; it goes to the middle man's pocket

And, it is neither BJP, nor Congress, but the lopsided development in the name of globalization, whereby a farmer in India has to give up subsidy so that a farmer in US can be subsidized (you can work out for yourselves how this mechanism works) that is the cause of these suicides.
And, BJP was a worse culprit than Congress. They are not merely indifferent (like Congress). They are evil, and cruel.
There is a genuine problem of breakdown of state level extension services, non availability of agro inputs, cheap credit and other services. Even if half of the figure is correct, only reporting of suicide does not create the actual situation which is very grim. The resource rich farmers even in states of Punjab and Haryana are also staying away from agriculture as it is becoming non remunerative for them. The nest revolution must come from small farmers and turing the small landholding into profitable entity is actually a steep challenge before us. Central Govt, ICAR, State Agril dept must bring back the extension system , may involve capable NGOs into it, revive the other support services. Otherwise, retail giants will suck the blood of poor farmers and food surplus state will be deficient and food prices will soar major height. Wake up, India.
This was the condition of formers from the day industry took major part in day to day well being of people and a self centered town ship socity came in to picture.In this time of mechanisation former produced are taken at a average price but input to the former are available at a non affordable price. This results in availability of substandard items to the former and in turn total loss to the poor.This results in conditions of self destruction. It is high time that rural based autonomous infrastructure is evolved and supported for benefit of masses.In present days everybody is refusing to go to villages and formers are left alone for thinking such kind of options as suiside. Mr. Mahesh, Where are you from? Do you ever go out of your house? Do you know what is farming? When did you hear about farmers suicides? Do you know why farmers commited suicide? Do you know what steps BJP/Cong govt has taken?
Person who was interviewed got information from Central Govt.

r u crazy. Many deaths are not considered as suicides and some deaths are declared unofficial.Do u know that.
