Deve Gowda is acting as if he owns Karnataka %u2013 he will get a kick on his La%u2026da when he goes for polls.
by S S on Nov 19, 2007 06:47 PM  Permalink

The way Karnataka has witnessed its turn-coat politicians of various hues behave, having nothing but their own words to eat for their break fast, lunch and dinner, makes for a sad and sickening contempt for the political class as a whole. And it is a disgrace that a former PM is playing petty politics to ensure his son%u2019s stint as the CM
The Gowda family takes the cake for it followed not far away from the other main political parties who are all treating the state as their own fiefdom.

RE:Congress Interpretation for your review
by Loan Shark on Nov 19, 2007 07:07 PM  Permalink
Congress has ruled India for 48 out of 60 years ... There has been achievement and there have been lapses. Like a true patriot, you have listed the lapses but ignored to list the achievements .... which I believe is too long to list.

Congress did not free militants for Rubia Hussain. She is the daughter of a Janata Dal MP ... or was a JD MP then. Janata Dal (VP Singh) was in office with BJP's support.

Vajpayee govt. was caught napping during the Kargil episode. The enemy captured some of our land while we were sleeiping.

BJP has done its own share of muslim appeasement like Advanee praising Jinnah to woo muslim voters.

Your compliation is extremely good. But I strongly feel that you are a supporter of BJP. I would not say that Congress is the best but what we enjoy now are only because of the policies initiated by the present and the past Congress governments. The world has recognised India more during the congress regimes and we have had the best Prime Ministers under the Congress regime. It is extremely tough to avoid all what you have mentioned above especially in a pluralistic society like ours. Of course Congress has to answer to a lot of questions but at the same time lets not forget what they have done for us. Let hope and pray that political parties will understand and realise that development of the country is of prime importance and not filling their own pockets. Ruling the country is serving the people and the nation. Political parties from across the line should learn from their mistakes and wake up for the betterment of the country. Jai Hind

Why BJP expects citizens to be so stupid?
by Gautam Sinha on Nov 19, 2007 06:39 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

If the ex-7-day-CM expects us ot believe that he came to power only to develop the state and that too with the coalition of convenience, they must beleive that citizens are stupid. Political drama is always played at public money so we can either lament or smile at the turn of events.

There is nothing wrong if a leader believes that he can lead a coalition government and develop a state or country. You must know that after the first communist government under EMS Namboothiripad, no party could get a clear majority in Kerala. For the last few decades, only coalitions have been ruling Kerala. In spite of that Kerala has developed. In many spheres like health care, public distribution, literacy, women empowerment etc. Kerala is ahead of others even though industrial growth was poor because of militant trade unionism. Vajpayee lead a 25 party coalition and ruled successfully for a full term. The eight percent plus industrial growth which we are witnessing today started during his tenure. When Yeddyurappa took over as CM, he did not know his government will last only seven days. JD(S) had given a letter to the governor pledging unconditional support to BJP. After that if JD(S) started demanding signing of 12 point agreement as pre-condition for supporting the government, how can you blame BJP for that? If JD(S) wanted to ensure that the 12 point programme should be the basis for support, they should have got it done before issuing the letter to the governor. JD(S) has insulted not only the people of Karnataka, they have insulted even the highest seat of Indian democracy (that is, the office of the president of India)

Mr Sandeep Sharma, you are a supporter of the BJP no matter what. Dont start blaming the congress. They are no saints but they have nothing to do with this. The BJP first demanded presidents rule then, they retracted and demanded that they form the govt. live by hypocracy, die by hypocracy.

Just because you are a BJP supporter, you cannot blame congress for every screwup that happens with BJP.

Get real deepak. Gowdas are a very powerful lobby to reckon with. If stage is shared with BJP outside state leaders who had nothing to do with the elections and ignore JD-s the price has to be paid. Only shows the immaturity of the BJP state leaders at this stage.
