Ban
by eCommon Man on Nov 16, 2007 11:05 AM  Permalink

Isn't there a national policy/law that can ban party(ies) and the peoples%u2019 representatives who go back on their words? Especially, who disobey like what happened in Karnataka? Doesn%u2019t the Governor have such powers? If not, isn%u2019t there any higher authority to do so?

In a way, is this not cheating? In fact, being public servants%u2014the parties are playing with the hopes, beliefs, and sentiments of the public who chose their representatives!

Gowda acting worse than a Gaddha
by S S on Nov 16, 2007 11:03 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

D Gowdaji is not acting like an ex-Prime minister but like a typical street politician. we all know how he became P.M. Laloo in a meeting 1996 told the coalition parties kissi gaddhe ya goda go bitta do . The coalition immeditely took goda as gowda and thus we had Deve Gowda as the P.M. Since then after he lost the prime ministership and can only pity him. DGowda and sons owning crores and crores of property are still not satisfied. And want to grab as much as possible berofe relinquishing power As an ex-prime minister, he is expected to air his comments on international and national issues. On the contrary most of the time his concern seems to be real estate in and around Bangalore, so much so that he crusaded the exit of eminent people from important agencies. The people of Karnataka lost the services of Mr Jayakar Jerome soon after Mr Deve Gowda formed the government with Congress and then Narayana Murthy, kene%u2026. Mannina Maga should be renamed as kundhina maga which he deserves

Wrong Decision
by SP on Nov 16, 2007 11:02 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It was a wrong decision of the BJP to accept the support of JDS for forming a govt in KTKA. This point have been raised by many people including myself on this discussion board on many occasions earlier. We have pointed out that this decision of the BJP will not help them in the longrun and will adversely affect the party. Many of us opined that the parties in Ktka should go for polls instead such a "weak" and opportunistic coalition. Many BJP supporters on this page has abused as with dirty languages and they told BJP will make Ktka a heaven. Even they called us agents of Sonia Gandhi. Now whatever we have told is becoming true. BJP, a national party has become a slave under a regional party like JDS. This will give a general impression among the people that BJP is also like any other party will sacrifice their policieis and ideologies just for power. Each day the BJP accepting the support of Deve Gowda & Sons Pvt Ltd, they will loose their image. Let us wait and see how much time this honeymoon will last.

Time is not far away when he will be kicked like a foot ball by his own partymen. Devegowda will be the foot ball. Kumarswamy and Revanna will be the captains of the two teams and all their MLA followers will be included in the team. We can expect a tough battle only to kick the ball in any direction. Goal to any team will just be a bonus.

Sad state of affairs !!
by Rajesh Pai on Nov 16, 2007 10:56 AM  Permalink

I wish Devegowda reads all these articles written in these columns. Not one of them are in support of Devegowda. Let God him the wisdom to ensure he supports a government ( whichever party ) to offer a clean and able governance.

BJP deserves it
by sg sg on Nov 16, 2007 10:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

BJP deserves it. They should have learnt the lesson the first time when Kumaraswamy refused to transfer power as per agreement. This only showed that both father and son will cling to power shamelessly. BJP would have been on higher moral ground. Now it seems that they too wanted only power. The present situation is sick and shows the true color of Gowda. The people of K'taka should route his party the next time.

100% right. BJP deserves this betraying. Yeddi bas become blind and he forgot the go through past record of JDS and Gowda. His dream was only to become CM even for one day. And the people have shouted that BJP has opened its account in South and Yeddi will make the Karnataka a heaven. But the happenings are clearly showing even yeddi will not get time to solve the problems in his own Ministry and the people and state are far away. BJP has ditched its own graveyard by accepting the support of JDS. So let them suffer.

You are a fool. You want to punish the victim rather than the culprit. I don't think people of K'taka are so much fool that they do not understand who is doing what and why. They wil definitely teach a very good lesson to Gowda and sonia party too.

Dear sg sg,
BJP is clear. They have nothing to lose. At any point of time if Gowda removes support they will claim they have been betrayed and get sympathy. JD( S ) are the bigeest losers in this Tamasha

How to handle the gowda
by khg yg on Nov 16, 2007 10:54 AM  Permalink

We require a Musharaaf to handle the gowdas. You have to put them under house arrest or allow them to spend a weekend with imran khan or better place them at the LOC and leave our neighbours to show them their hospitality
