If electeion held or democracy not returns
by SlashMotion on Nov 14, 2007 06:27 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whatever happens in Pakistan, US will still support pakistan with financial aid beacause it is a strategic location for US. Having friendly diplomatic relation and a base in Pakistan ensure US to get access to Middle East, India and China. How can US turn blind eye on Pakistan?

Pakistan is surrounded by four neighbours which never go hand-in-hand with US - Iran, China, India(lately India is going smooth with US but always a pro-Soviet [USSR]) and Taliban (Afghanistan). If US establish a military base in pakistan or have a good diplomatic relation with pakistan ensure US to have a diplomatic presence in the region. Hence pakistan is strategically important for the United States.

Did it happen by coincidence or it is a result of diplomacy?

In my opinion it is in the interest of United States to maintain a good diplomatic relation with Pakistan. When US wanted to launch an attack on Taliban, it utilized Pakistan soil as military base. Similarly it used Saudi Arabia to launch an attack on Iraq when Iraq invaded Kuwait. So it is highly essential that US need to keep a good diplomatic relation with Pakistan to devise an effective Afghan policy. In contrast to India, Pakistan has a highly instable democratic setup and has a poor economy so coaxing Pakistan with military and financial aid is easier than barganing for the soverginity of India.

Hopefully Americans can wake up from their slumber. Hopefully they will be more choosy about their friends next time.
Anyway I think Musharraf is much better than the other corrupt politicians in Pakistan including Bhutto.
Hope Pakistan comes out better after this.

The wily general has every right to reject the neanderthaal's orders.
by chanakya maurya on Nov 14, 2007 04:34 PM  Permalink

After all his naapaaak is a sovereign nation.

Not one of the states of the United States of America.

Good slap on the cheek of that Neanderthaal occupying the Oval !

Keep it up general !

Show to the world that yours is an independent country.

Not an American colony or just a military base.

However, one thing is for sure.

By antagonizing the Neanderthaal your doom may perhaps be accelerating.

Sorry, General !
