What gr8 indian leaders have said abt RSS
by Dhruv dinkar on Nov 12, 2007 11:57 AM  Permalink

When I visited the RSS camp, I was very much impressed by your discipline and the complete absence of untouchability.

- Mahatma Gandhi at the RSS rally, Delhi 16.9.1947
---------------------------------------------------
In the Congress those who are in power feel that by virtue of authority they will be able to crush the R.S.S. By "danda" you cannot suppress an organization. Moreover "danda" is meant for thieves and "dakus". Using of "danda" will not help much. After all, R.S.S. men are not thieves and dacoits. They are patriots. They love their country.

- Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in a public meeting, Lucknow 6.1.1948

Technology has no Values of its Own....
by D goel on Nov 12, 2007 11:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Pkl. Midday, 12th Nov,)7. Monday
Reading the news that RSS Bloggers are ,now out to spread their own brand of nationalism amonst the adepts and outsiders of their inner circles
only confirms what Andrews Undershaft in Shaw's Play Mrs Warren's Profession underlines as his following utterance epitomises-...." make sure I make the deadliest Arms , I was born orphan,
and i sell these to all criminals , tyrants ,
revolutionaries in short for any causes good ,bad , indiffrent as long as they pay good money for them, to me...."
So ,if we, now ,find RSS exploiting their neophyte IT Kids to spread their virus of Nationalism ( Hindu ) why the technology of the day must necessarily eschew , bigotry and exclusiveness of nation-state ?By itself IT is Nation -neutral. D. Goel

D. Goel, why don't you first go to a RSS shakha in a nearby sector of Panchkula. Go to sector 11 or 9 or 7, for example. Find out exact location and go regularly for a month or so. Then you will understand what RSS is. Don;t talk nonsense if you don't know.

Goa freedom and RSS
by Dhruv dinkar on Nov 12, 2007 11:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

On 2 August, 1954,100 Sangh Swayamsevaks stormed the Portuguese enclaves of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The attack was led by Vinyak Rao Apte, Pune Sanghchalak. They attacked the main police headquarters at Selvassa and forced the 175 soldiers there to surrender unconditionally. The national tri-colour flag was hoisted and the region handed over to the Central Government on the same day. Like-wise the first to unfurl the national flag over the Panaji Secretariat in Goa in 1955 was a Swayamsevak working as a teacher in Goa. He was put in prison in a Lisbon jail for full 17 years till 1972?well after Goa was liberated in 1961. I cannot help surmising that Government of India was not interested in his earlier release only because he was a Swayamsevak!

Even greater is the story of RSS swayamsewaks who cleaned Sri Nagar Airport for facilitating landing of Indian troops on time when Pak attacked it in october 1947.

IT sakha
by satyanarayan panigrahi on Nov 12, 2007 11:54 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear all, i read all of your views here.
AS i am also working in IT so let me tell you my view and if you have any point to add then surely you can.

I know this rss when i was in school.my point to tell you is this org has good points as well as serious bad point.what you are discussing here is ok but you are speaking different aspects of this org on a single platform.

as a school student i liked this sakhas as it encourages you for independent thinking, increses your outlook when you meet people of different taste and helps you stay fit as they have a good excersice time table.ok good upto this.

bad points are the people who are unemployed and lazy take the shelter of this org on the disguise of social service and use the normal peoples facilities for their own use. This org has a request to all its sevaks to give shelter and help whenever needed to other unemployed sevaks and thus the unemployed youth gets a wildcard to go to them and ask for one help or the other and they slowly start control of public life in the diguise of sevaks particularly in small cities..i dont say it rss that provocates this but this org gives them such a platform where they are busy for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hrs in the evening in the sakha and are spending the rest of the day in the rss club by playing card and doing khatti's..and i have a concern over it which is a slow killer of social life as well.
as we know empty mind is devils workshop and nows IT gen youth has very less tim

At least, i have not seen such things happenning anywhere. RSS does not like this to happen for sure. If you observe such things, why don't you discuss this with the elders in RSS of that area? It is a bad trend. We should stop it. As such, anyone wasting time like that is bad. If they are in RSS, at least there are possibilities that they can be brought back to track.

But, in general people who attend shakha do have good qualities and do good work.
