If India signs the deal, we will have no nuclear weapons. That is the real issue. What will be lost if we don't sign the deal. Nothing much. There are 100 different ways to produce electricity, nuclear contributes only 2-3 percent now. Even if it will be doubled by 2020, as Mon Mohan is saying, it will cost at least ( at current cost) three times the entire annual budget of the India government just to buy some old second hand Tarapur style plants from USA, which would be without any technology(old or new). USA has never supplied technology of any kind to us, only the USSR did. India is nearly self sufficient in nuclear technology because of the USSR who has supplied everything since 1974, when USA imposed sanctions against India. We have not lost anything because of the US sanctions, we will not lose anything if we do not sign the DEAL. We will still have about 14 plants, 4 new plants from Russia, two FRBs by 2009, one big FBR by 2020. India has some natural uranium, but lots of Thorium. We can go ahead without the DEAL.
Thus, BJP, CPI(M),SP, BSP,The LEFT, all other political parties of India who are against the DEAL are correct and The Congress Party is wrong.
This is such a serious matter but unfortunately it is getting lost in the debate about communal ism and communism. Here are the boundary lines: 1. We have pursued the path of independent development so far, that has brought us up to a certain level. Our top scientists somehow neglected search for uranium (no body knows why)which has brought us to this sorry state. 2. We can not go very far on our own in this complicated field and have to hold the hands of either US or Russia or France. 3. They may help, but will definitely impose IAEA supervision. This is unavoidable. 4. The super-powers willing to help can never bless or support our bomb making efforts. 5. The BJP govt has already declared a one sided moratorium on further explosive testing. 6.What is left to be negotiated is the cost which no party is talking about as was the case with Enron.
A statement issued by Leader of the Opposition L.K. Advani, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Jaswant Singh and BJP president Rajnath Singh said, "We stand opposed to the deal because in our view it compromises the long-term strategic programme of India vital for country%u2019s security, neither will it meet our energy needs of the future. Therefore, the BJP strongly recommends that this deal must be renegotiated and not hustled through."
The BJP took the position that the Congress-led UPA government is compromising on the nuclear doctrine and the strategic programme given shape to by the Vajpayee government. The BJP has taken strong objection to the government agreeing to cap the nuclear tests at a time of heightened threat perception to national security. Even the situation in the neighbourhood was volatile, it was pointed out. The party took the stand that it cannot brook indifference to the strategic programme.
The BJP said the nuclear tests had to be conducted to keep pace with the technology. The party cannot accept any cap on nuclear testing as it was not in national interest. The BJP said that it was the Vajpayee government that had shaped the nuclear doctrine and the credible minimum nuclear deterrent. This hard-earned nuclear deterrent should not be frittered away, feels the BJP. It was also felt that energy security from the nuclear deal was illusory as the increase from nuclear energy was only marginal. The BJP insisted that the strategic programme was
BJP is now supporting a popular demand to reject the Deal, which is against India's interest. Those who normally write in different message boards are either NRI living in USA/UK or pro-American Indian living in India. These people only think in terms of their bread or butter ( or Curry and Rice). They are prepared to clean the butt of Bush, if the money is right. It is not a surprise that they support this Deal, which will eliminate India's nuclear weapons. These people are slaves, their fathers and grandfathers used to pilish the boots of the British, now they want to polish the boots of the Americans. They are the worse kind of traitors India has produced. Most of the parties except Congress ( I guess only Man Mohan Singh, because according to Natwar Singh most the Congress leaders were opposed to it before they got bribes from the CIA) party are opposed to the Deal, so are the people of India.
Loan Shark, the Islamist, writes that "he (Advani) licks Jinnah's butt".
[His name, Loan Shark, comes from Islamic notion of opposition to interest.]
Anyway, here are the facts:
1. ADVANI DID NOT GIVE ANY CERTIFICATE TO JINNAH.
2. ADVANI MERELY QUOTED SWAMI RANGANATHANANDA, EX HEAD OF RAMAKRSHNAMISSION, AND AN ACCAILMED SPIRITUAL LEADER, WHO HIMSELF WAS HEAD OF RK MISSION IN KARACHI DURING 1947-48, AND SAW THOSE TUMULTOUS DAYS.
3. SWAMIJI QUOTED FROM JINNAH'S SPEECH TO SHOW THE PATHETIC SITUATION OF PAKISTAN!
4. ADVANI QUOTED THE SAME SPEECH OF SWAMIJI TWICE BEFORE IN INDIA. ONCE EVEN WHEN HE WAS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER. INDIAN PRESS WAS SLEEPING, AS USUAL, AND MISSED THAT.
5. PSUEDO HISTORIANS QUOTE THIS SPEECH 100S OF TIMES IN INDIA. WHY ADVANI CAN;T QUOTE SWAMIJI'S REFERENCE TO THAT SPEECH?
6. YOUR ANGER TO ADVANI SHOWS UP PATHETICALLY:)- IN ANY CASE, YOU CAN CONTINUE CURSING ADVANI- BUT THAT MASQUE IS NOT COMING BACK AT AYODHYA:)-

Prove it. Where is the reference? Karachi has seen complete elimination of the Hindus and Sikhs in 1947. It is not without any reason Gujarati Hindus are so much against the Muslims. They had suffered the worse in 1947. Jinnah was responsible for the murder of 50,000 Hindus in Calcutta on 14-17 August 1946. And Ram Krishna Mission said Jinnah was Secular. It is impossible. Prove what you are saying or shut up.

All that you mentioned about Advani - try explaining this to your dear "K Sudershan" and "Ram Madhav". Don't do any explaining here.

China is an issue in the Nuclear Deal. Only the Indian media, who are on the payroll of the CIA, is making it a China issue. Is Advani a Chinese agent as well, when BJP is also against the Deal?

Advani is a big loser. When Kissinger puts a bamboo in his posterior, he changes his stand. The guys dances to the tune of foreigners, he licks Jinnah's butt, appeases muslims in a failed attempt to woo their votes.
He should return to Sindh and contest elections should Musharaff go for them. He is a Pakistani by birth and by heart.

Actually, communists don't know what they r doing. That's why they are afraid of a vote on this issue! Because that will expose them for the cheats they are!
Old Monk, read the text of the deal and then say whether it is good for the country. Just because it is the Congress which is championing the deal doesn't mean that it's good for the country. When did Advani change his stand, u moron Shark??? Talking of Muslim appeasement, Karunanidhi, Mulayam, Laloo and Manmohan himself are way way ahead!!!

BJP has to oppose any deal Congress makes even if it is good for the country. They do not want to give congress any credit.
