Mr.Peri, I really applaud your article. I completely agree with your views. Nowdays, riots have are seen within the prism of religion, caste, creed, regioin, etc. I feel sick when people defend Modi even after seeing this sting operation.

so, according to the 'unbiased' views of the author, narendra modi should be hanged since his guilt has been exposed conclusively by the sting operation and there is no need even for a fair trial.
Unfortunately, in a democracy and free society, things are not conducted in that way. There is something known as the law of the land and a judiciary. You should allow that to take its own course.
what ppl said in the operation are just allegations on modi. they may be wrong. but it has to be evaluated by the investigation going on. nothing more can be done with the so called 'evidence'.
if somebody says that he killed on the behest of sonia gandhi and describes how he committed the crime (like ripping off the foetus etc) what r we supposed to do? get emotional by the description and hang 'madam' immediately?

Those who think Mahesh Peri is unbiased, need to get their head examined. Mahesh himself says that he considers himself sort of a mentor of Tehelka folk. Grow up, guys. Mahesh knows perfectly what he is writing, he does not need your sympathies.

what about the Godhra, Kashmir and other riots like 1984, Bhagalpur ones? Does all were fine? Only the Gujrat is bad?
100s of farmer committing suicide in Maharastra, why My Peri is not writing anything on that? People like Mr. Peri work on on line, Anti-Hindu.

So, Rajeev you want Mr. Peri to handle all the issues of India, is it possible? No.
If you or whoever has concerned about other issues you have mentioned, let them handle it.
If anybody favors Tehelka, you call them jehadis, anti-hindu bla bla ...it has become a fashion.

If Tehalka says only one thing and forget other thing then it is like he is working on his personal interest. Journalism can't be personalized.
He is talking about the Gujrat riot and blame Modi, he must mention the other riots like 1984, Bhagalpur & others. If he do not do that then it means that he is one sided. Again, the Gujrat riot was the reactive action, it was the reaction of Godhra. Why do not condemn Godhra 1st. If the Godhra incident would not have happed, the gujrat riot would never had happened.
RE:Excellent article by Mahesh Peri

Action/Reaction does not work this way.
If you believe in Action/Reaction, I would say "Godhra Train" was reaction to 1992 Babri Demolishion. Do you accept it?
I strongly condemn Godhra Train incident as well.
If you still believe in Action/Reaction...then you may be expecting "Reaction" from Muslims against Post-Godhra....
Then again a "Reaction" to this...should this continue????? absolutely NOT.
Since you approve the "reaction" I don't have anything to discuss with you. Sorry, and don't expect Tehelka to take the contract of all the issues of the country.
If you/BJP or RSS has guts why not make a sting operation on godhra and bhagalpur?

So you think even if muslims kill Hindus, hindus should keep quite? Even if muslims rape Hindus (in Kashmir), Hindus should not do anything? And if hindus react it is wrong? What will you understand the pain of the Hindus in J&K, North east and other muslim countries. Subarna can you answer me some questions as (by sridhar) below:
1.It is some islamic followers who had used force to convert 40 percent of Hindus towards to Islam. 2.It is islamic followers who had caused the split of vast India to be divided in to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh purely based on religion. 3.It is some islamic fanatic rulers who had destroyed many temples and also put up mosques there not out of anything, but to satisfy their ego and has nothing todo with Holy Quran or Islam. 4.Creating social unrest by way of conversions and looting and raping
So, when most islamic followers had grossly misused their religion to incur so much suffering in the hindus, then dont you think, there will be a reactive action from some Hindus?
WHY DO YOU TAKE ISOLATED INCIDENTS OF HINDUS AND GENERALIZE THAT ALL BJP IS LIKE MODI etc? I am not justifying what Modi did(if he had done any mass murder), but trying to make you understand the causes behind such reactive violent actions by some Hindus.
BUT AT THE SAME TIME, MUSLIMS ALSO SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE HARDSHIP DONE IN THE PAST TO HINDUS BY THEIR PREDECESSORS BEHAVIOR AND BE PATIENT AND THEN WORK FOR BETTER INDIA.
Even if a single muslims harassed, it will make the big news saying that the innocent guy is being harassed. And the Indian media will create hype. even if 100 & thousands of hundus killed does not make the big news. what is happening in kashmir, pakistan, north east & other muslim countries; how hindus killed or forced to convert to Islam; media, congree party & the people like you don't even talk on that. you always forget that in Godhra around 70 people burnt alive. are Hindus, Sikhs not innocent, only Muslims & Christians innocent?
Telpal, you guys are mentally sick, always work on one like anti-hindu.

Rajeev, only you would say these crimes were fine. That is some sickness in you. No one else says it.
Speaking of Godhra, entire state machinery, which represent people like you and me, has been mobilized, trials held pronto, and the perpetrators were arraigned and punished.
Whereas in case of post-Godhra riots, the state machinery, which represent you and me, is said to be on the side of the cruel perpetrators.
Has your narrow sense of religion blinded you so much that you cannot see the inhumanity of it? Are you so cruelly inhuman and anti-Hindu (the word Hindu used in its correct sense) that you justify such inhumanity?

crime is not fine. but bias in justice is worse then that and hence you should not listen and believe to tehelka or any congress or corrupt megha patkar. there were many riots during congress regime and it all happened due to congress wanted minority votes and wants to dump any legal sentiments. and people who died in train were innocent while people who died were criminals and loyal to congress. it is wrong to say tehelka is messenger. tehelka is nothing but loyal puppet of congress. why tehelka never go to bofors case, cases regarding corruption created by congress, when sonia tried to fracture constitution by sayhing she wants to be PM?? why tehelka does not go for many riots happened in gujarat during congress. why tehelka does not go to 1984 riots??? it is shame for tehelka and nothing else.....

Brothers/sisters, I feel very sad to read all below reviews about the article posted above. I am scared where the humanity would be if we hate each other so much.Instead of fovuring a particular community we could have written in the favour of humanity. I condemn what happened at godhra, and i also condemn what happened afterwards. Retaliation in the same manner does not justify the revenger that he/she is morally superiour to suffere. The young generation need to come forward and stand in the favour of humanity. then only we can make a better world.

faisal..ur concern is geniune i ppreciate that... But when the media politicians...and other pseudo-sickular people are always voicing against the majority and dont give a damn abouth their plight...this is what obviously expected...and i hope you will understand that...
If earth shatters when a big tree false. it is equally true that if a rat irritaates an elephant, elephant has every right to shoo it away and in the process if the rat gets crushed it is not elephants fault. It is the fault of rat - knowing very well that elephant will retaliate at one point or the other if constantly pestered. If the foxes then accuse elephant it is best for the elephant to ignore it and if that goes on for long give another thappad to foxes as much as rats

Will you apply same logic, where muslims are like elephant (majority) and hindus are like rat(minority)?
I cannot comprehend the fact that there are so many users here who are finding faults against the expose and calling it politically motivated.
Who cares if it is polically motivated. The truth has to be told by someone at some point. In your hearts, each one of you supporting modi know precisely what happened and who was behind it. I cannot comprehend how you can endorse these happenings and try to justify it as retaliation. Why dont you just see it as a group of people killing innocent people (women and kids included) motivated only by political factors which is precisely what it was.

This is a classic case of mob mentality. Have I mentioned anywhere in post justifying the the Godhra incident or Kashmiri Pandits. Exploitation of innocent people anywhere in any form under whatever context is a crime.
My dissapoint ment and angst is at the number of you well educated section of nations intellegentia being guided by mob mentality and justification of a politically motivated genocide.
Remember that this genocide has nothing to do with hinduism or christianity. It was simply a well planned move by an opportunist political party to take advantage of a people's ignorance and animal instincts.
Who is funding them? How come in some of the clips the lips do not match the spoken words? With new technology, with manipulation of digits, one can create anyone's voice. Soon you will hear tapes with "Modi voice" ordering killing. As MJ Akbar says we can not get Modi by normal means, we have to use other methods.

Till now tehelka targeting BJP or Hindu organization with false story. why can't tahelka go to kashmir, north east and expose the christians & muslims forcefully converting hindus? the answer is simple Sonia (by the way any clue how sonia or Rajiv become Gandhi?) do want that.

If you really think that christians and muslims converting hindus, then why don't you take first step and do the sting operation in kashmir. I think there is no any mainstream media which has the info that hindus are being converted in Kashmir. So, i think you have inside info on this. why don't you do that job instead of asking tehelka to do. Because Tehelka do not have such info

Mahesh Peri seems to be lamenting that people are not believing his lies. So what has changed? First, English media is out of touch with majority of Indians and second people get news from many sources rather than old media and it is difficult for the media to get away with lies.
Agreed that the killing of anyone is a crime. Agreed that the BJP has a "communal agenda".
But dear Mr.Peri, do you know how Hindus are treated in the middle east ? do you know the billions of dollars that are being poured in by missionaries to convert hindus and buddhists ? Do you know the communist agenda to make India their next soviet union ?
If you dont f...ing accept the realities above then you will continue seeing religious polarisation in India....
HINDUS HAVE THE RIGHT TO INDIA AND NO ONE, EVEN SECULAR SADISTS LIKE YOU CAN DENY THAT....
They also have their axe to grind. Journalist cheat, lie, do propaganda, take bribes, work for other countries, spread hatred and all other dastardly acts that they allege that politicians do. All the major journalists have kothis, unaccounted money. If you do not believe me, try to find out where do they live. I'd rather believe a politician than a journalist. I am not talking about a reporters but journalists and editors.
