RE:Indian media justifies killing of Hindus

True. Modi decided to go after innocent people rather than the culprits who killed those poor Kar sevaks.
Until we moderates (who are hindus and muslims only at home) voice your concerns and raise our voices to such a decibel that all the voices of communalists, secularists and terrorists is drowned it....your and mine children cannot hope to live in peace. The lives of our children may end up violently as the victims of Godhra or Gujarat.
What the writer wants to rightly point out is that we have all become divided by us and them and not just only because of the secularists but more so because of the communalists as well...
Even when we hear heart wrenching tales of horror and even see live proof of it on live TV we think that its only the muslims or the hindus who are being burned and murdered even if they are innocents...
Isnt it a shame that Godhra is a part of Gujarat but we still have 2 separate meanings for Godhra and Gujarat.
These politicians and stripped us naked of our morality.
Dear...if you all really want to think in terms of us and them think it this way...In todays world there are only 2 kinds of people... 1) innocents getting violently killed and terrorised 2) criminals and devils killing these innocents
My friends if you belong to the first group then unite against the second group and fight them...actually we are in a majority so even if we raise our voices the world will be a peaceful place.

I totally agree with you, there can't be any justification to killings of human beings be it at Godhra or post Godhra riots. Does the religion whoever says himself to be a true hindu or a muslim can never justify any killings. We should not be guilty of supporting the crimes which we did not do beacuse that also makes a part of the crime. I feel sorry to see so much hatred here and that people justifying killings against fellow humans just because they do not happen to be co-religionist. Hey guys, understand one thing, there goes a saying''Never fight for your belief, you never know you might be wrong''. Religion is a person's choice; his way of living a life and no religion teaches you to kill humans. I am a muslim and still i dont wish anything bad for Mr. Modi, i just wish he realises what is humanity and what is human suffering at the hands of a fellow human being. You can't live with peace with so much hatred within you guys. Be a true Hindu and a true Muslim an speak truth for your religion--speak for love and compassion not hatred and killings.

You have asked a question in the article "Do we need to see even the most despicable things that happen around us through a prism of caste, creed, religion, political parties, competition, business, sex, region, and so on?"
Well just read the discussion and you will find the answer. Its no more about right or wrong, its just revenge and hatred which has spread into the Indian community.
All I can say are two wrongs dont make a right, if youe loved ones get hurt do you feel justice is done by killing somebody else who is innocent or by finding the person who caused harm and punishing them.
Gandhi had said "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" how true was he. It seems the whole world has gone blind

Hi SS,
Agree with you two are definitely better than one but for 2 people like us there seem to be a 100 who are blinded with hatred.
Most disappointing thing is these people are educated and they are so blinded. It just scares me how the politicians must be manipulating the mobs by spreading this hatred.
Just because the killers of Sikhs, Kashmiri Pandits and others have not been exposed in such sting operations (though they are well known) does not mean that we should not respond decisively to this tehelka sting. I hope such revelations happen soon about those who have raped/killed Sikhs, Pandits, tribals as well as those involved in the Godhra burning. But we should not stifle our consciences. It can happen to anyone.
Outlook is a communist magazine. It is owned by Christists. I think you should first look at yourself before pointing towards an eminent editor like Chandan Mitra.
I accuse you of propagating a hidden agenda of Christists, communists and foreign government. You are also a sadist just like tehelka hurting people, never letting history to die. If you want to refute these allegations then come out with the shareholding of Outlook group, its sources of funding, donations, advertisement revenue et al. After all you are also a public opinion maker.
May i ask where is the readership of Outlook compared with Pioneer?
People can you all for a second forget the religion of the people that got massacred, forget the religion of the girl that got raped, forget their caste their race and look at those 2000 people as fellow Indians. Indians that were killed, raped. Tell me does it still justify to you what happened. We feel proud that it happened, what if some day things get changed and it happens the other way round, would you then say its a massacre and an evil act. Stop this an eye for an eye, whom do you want to fight with, with a fellow Indian, a guy who has lived in India as long as you did, who was born here ,raised here. Stop asking them to go to pakistan, it is their country as much as yours, they choose to be here as much as your forefathers did. Dont justify evil, it would only make you evil.

Journalism is reaching a new low in India. With numerous news channels vying for viewship, news has to be packaged and 'sold' like a commodity. Tehelka expose is only a matter of making money rather than shedding tears for the riot affected people. The timing of the so-called expose is itself an expose of their dubious intentions. Their earlier 'expose' of Army deals looked so 'cooked-up' that I wonder whether they are journalists or sensationalists. I feel that 'journalism' is the casualty in this commercialisation of news channels where news is sold to viewers. It is time for the serious and real journalism to stand-up and distinguish themselves because its the media and Judiciary thyat are the hopes of the hapless people of this country, where the political class and the beuracracy have lost peoples' trust.
