Good that pak was seperated from india
by Ranjith M on Nov 06, 2007 11:02 AM  Permalink

I feel its good that pak is created even though it was against the will of the majority. India by itself has lot of problems after 60 yrs of democracy
1. Corrupt leaders with regional aspirations.
2. Poverty still runs at 40%. Its horrible to see after 60 yrs also good population of India lives in streets and slums. Feel very bad to see the living condition of children's of Indian poor after coming from a western country.
3. No improvement in Health Care, Police and Justice even we celebrated 60 yrs. Compare our progress with Japan which was destroyed by second world war.
4. Parts of NE & Kashmir still not integrated with Indian society
5. Naxal and fear of terrorist attack in Indian cities.. No guarantee for life in India.

Now if Pakistan and Bangladesh is with India see where this list will end up.. I think Tarun Vijay only sees the positive side of India, India has lot of problems to be solved before it can say about other countries. India requires dedicated NGO's to fight proverty and corruption instead of writing such and article

Tarun...please stop writing for rediff
by Ravi on Nov 06, 2007 11:00 AM  Permalink

Tarun, The feeling of hatred towards india is still a major source of oxygen for many Pakistani people, they have been thriving on it for past 61 years. Don't talk for handful of innocent souls across the borders, nobody can help them except their fate. Even the most elite Pakistanis never spare any chance to spew venom on India. This article is outdated and just a scrap reading. Be wise not to dig the grave of the past.

I COMPLETLY AGREE WITH YOU SAMEER. LOT OF PEOPLE TALK BAD ABOUT ISLAM BUT STILL ISLAM IS THE FASTEST GROWING RELIGION IN THE WORLD. WHY WOULD A RELIGION GROW EVEN AFTER SUCH HATRED AND ANGER TOWARDS IT... ITS LOGICAL BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST SCIENTIFICALLY SOUND RELIGION AND HAS ALL THE ANSWERS... AND WHOEVER IS A SOUND PERSON AND WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT ISLAM WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT IT AND CONVERT.

Islam the best religion has the worst followers.

Example first Surah that Allah sent to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was Iqra Biseh (Read Read Read) but the rate of illiteracy is highest among muslims.

Islam says "adopt moderation" in life but we spend money rigt left and centre for our worldly life.

Islam says " take care of poor". We instead do not pay "Zakat" which is the money meant for poor.

Islam has forbidden killing of innocent but what some muslim led by Maulvis are doing all over the world. Killing innocent through bomb blast. Is this an islamic act?

If some one wants to understand islam , please read the Quran and Hadith and do not look at us as an example. We are shame in the name of Islam. we have let down this great religion.May allah forgive us.

Partially correct article
by Aftab on Nov 06, 2007 10:55 AM  Permalink

What we have achieved today is largely because we have a secular democratic setup. Pakistan became a theocratic state and is paying the price in the form of all sorts of backwardness.

We must thank from our core of our heart the leaders of 1947 who despite so much of turmoil and blood bath stuck to the the democratic form of governance for India.

It is unfortunate that the history has fogotten the contribution of muslim leaders in India who fought tooth and nail to keep the country united and avoid its partition.

The situation was so bad at that time and even today that a person of Maula Azad's stature had to fight election from Mewat in Haryana a muslim dominated area. He resented when Nehruji asked him to fight election from Mewat instead he wanted to fight election from a constituency not dominated by muslims. Nehruji wanted him to win the election and join his cabinet.

Nehruji made similar mistakes, he sidelined the nationalist muslims and doled high positions to the fellows of jinnah who till midnight of 1947 were in favour of creation of Pakistan but switched over to congress.

these communal muslims got the power and positions in the state government and the nationalist muslims were sidelined. This proved too costly as the subsequent muslim leadership developed on communal lines and some of them made it to parliament and assembly.

Muslims have now woken up and support regioal and national parties that are secular. This is a beautiful trend.

Japan was destroyed in second world war, It was made to pay war cost, India was always under foreign rule, Mugals and British.. There is no reason to say that the present condition of India is because of being British colony.. Lot of countries ware destroyed in second world war and many and ahead us

about your point on japan, japan never got an independence in the sense that India got. Japan was a coloniol power way before 1947, a strong and united country, maybe they were on the wrong path and joined hands with hitler but they were one nation under one ruler and were very strong. They occupied whole of china before your 1947 bench mark. In that respect even germany got independent after world war 2 and was still divided into two parts till the 90's. India was always broken into different fragments before 1947 and they united only after that. So I dont think we have done all that bad in mere 60 yrs. We still got lot of problems but I think people are getting more aware of them and want to get rid of them. Things would get better Mr. Ranjith not by worrying and cursing but by doing something. This article was not about blaming someone but about joining hands with each other for a collective progress.

When India became independent sixty years ago, it was the most industrialised nation in Asia apart from Japan. It had the best chance of success. But sixty years of socialism have ruined us.

Japan did not become independent sixty years ago. Japan has never been colonised in its history. However, Japan had to rebuild itself after the second world war.

Pak

Politics in world had taken many changes. Earlier politics used to be part of religion, as religion was a way of life, say upto 1000AD, Hindu era(way of administration) was best in the world, upto 1750AD, it was Islamic era(way of administration), upto 1950, it was British era, now world wants social justices everywhere. Anybody who is talking Hindu or Islamic way of governance, is talking about past, not possible.Everyone will have to adopt democratic norms with social justices, otherwise, there will be chaos.Sooner it is understood, better.
