Dear Friends, General Mushrraf is clever enough to handle this situation created by himself. He has proven record to handle not only India but US and Western world in Pakistan's favour. We should learn from his talent and administrative skills, what is better for India in democratic manner. You may know that after 9/11, Pakistan was becoming terrorist country and we tought that Pakistan would be targeted but because of Gen. Mushrraf everything was changed and Pakistan became friend of US and Western world against Terrorism. We Indian were very happy that time because we thought that Pakistan will loose support of US but it became more closer to US because of Gen.Mushraff only. He is right to say that in Pakistan, one should not expect democracy and free society like in Developed Countries. Because in developed countries nowhere we hear about suicide bombing. So it is better to leave the volatile Country like Pakistan in hands of able General like Mr.Mushrraf

i agree to Bahujan in principle. Mushi is like a well-meaning dictator. He might be a better option in the short term. in the long run, God (allah, ram, eeshwar) alone can save that country methinks.
i shudder to even think life in that country under super restrictions in today's day and age...how do they live?? are the cinemas open?? how about internet??
"Am I my brother's keeper?" So said Cain when Adam asked about Abel whom he (Cain) had murdered. Will all those widows and orphans shed any tears if the General loses his power? Meanwhile, enjoy the gramatical farce!
It would be icing on cake to watch 'Uncle' in bollywood. Would love to see uncle being one up on our own amitabh. Generalsaab please come to mumbainagari and set up your tent. There are scores others who have taken lead roles from your country and are doing well. Looking forward to seeing you. For once, Pakistanis will be very happy.
I think we all must pray that he remains the ruler till someone else takes over. Problem with pakistan is not lack of leadership. Problem with Pakistan is Islam itself. You can not run a country where the constitution is a book written in 7th century. either all pakistanis should sell their property and buy animals and live with them like they did in Arab in 7th century or they have some kind of a reformation like christians in 1th century or they play ping pong with these leaders.

You are an idiot. Pakistan is not run as per Islamic laws (Please research what Islamic Laws say and then comment. Half knowledge is very dangerous). Lets be clear about that. Pakistan is no different than Burma or North Korea of other Middle-Eastern countries. These are Dictatorships. Some use Islam, some use communism and some use Nationalism to hold on to power. They are Power hungry THUGS !!!
One of the qualities of great nations is what they stand for and what they dream for.
Pakistan, in my view, is a FAILED State. This should not be a surprise to anyone. The foundation of this very state was based on fear and deception. The fear of Hindu dominance and the deception of a Muslim nation.
What does Pakistan dream for ? Destruction of India. They have spent the last 60 years working on "SCHEMES" to make life difficult for India. And this blind and shallow goal has made the Military in Pakistan more powerful than any other body, including the people of Pakistan.
Musharaff is just a symptom of a disease that has plagued Pakistan. And that Disease is Hatered for India. They are willing to sacrifice their today and tomorrow to see India Bleed. They are ready to compromise on their liberties to see India bleed. This kind of vision is destructive at the minimum. HATERED is NOT A VISION, It is NOT a DIRECTION.
Unless the Pakistani people sort out their priorities and realize what is important to them, they will have LEADERS like Zia-Ul-Haq, Gen, Khan or like Musharaff.
It is time for them to realize that Bread and Butter issues are more significant that Kashmir. And people of Kashmir need to take a lesson from Pakistan. Hatered towards India will not solve your problems.
As a Muslim I feel sad to see my fellow Muslims suffer in Pakistan. But I also realize that this is all because of their own doing and no one else should be blamed.

Well said Imran i agree with many things which you said but the thing i liked was a "mind set" to be a developed nation more important is the mindset of people and there are very few indians "Indians not hindus muslims sikhs or others" who are convinced that we should work for india and think how to make india a developed countr. i am really proud that Sir Dr. Abdul Kalam ji has shapped some young generation in proper direction with his good books and the only thing which will take us from 2nd world country to 1st world country is Unity. well said Imran love India & work for India

Great comments Imran! Not because you are pin pointing an error its because your viewpoint is so realistic. BUT Who has paid the price for no fault of their's. Its the Indian Muslim no doubt. This hate by the neighbor who also happens to be a brother did neither allow Hindus love then nor could they love the same people with whom they had survived for centuries. I think Hindu - Muslims dont have any problems with each other its the seeds of hate that Pakistan sowed right after partition.
Great article full of quality satire and humour. It also managed to convey the depth of the current tragedy in Pakistan and the state of mind of their Dictator who stages a coup against his own government!
Musharaf was known for keeping his head straight even during difficult times. Looks like he is losing it. Whatever the judges did, they have really got into his skin.

Musharaf is the criminal behind Kargil War and if he had his way, Nukes would have been dropped on India.

And that would have left India with one neighbor less on its western border. :-)
