FROM THIS IT IS CLEAR HOW THE POLICE OFFICERS WHEN BRIBED CAN PUT THE BLAME ON INNOCENT PEOPLE DUE TO INFLUENCE OF MONEY. SHAME ON THESE POLICE OFFICER AND THE CHIEF MINISTER WHO IS NOT CAPABLE. MR. ASHOK TODI SHOULD BE PUNISHED, IF HE IS RICH IT DOES NOT MEAN HE CAN DO WHAT HE LIKES. AFTER ALL THIS HOW THIS MAN IS LIVING WITHOUT ANY SHAME.

Go through the Special Marriage Act and the Conditionalities first thereafter comment
The way the mass supported the Rizwan cause was overwhelming. We need social movements like this. Don't make it a Hindu Muslim issue. Its a class issue. Had Rizwan been from an affluent family this wudn't have happened. I condemn the outlook of a parent who like to treat his children as a commodity/cattle. He fed his daughter, so she sud not have a thinking of her own. What a ridiculous, medieval outlook ?

Yes you are right. This case should also be taken in the same spirit as the case of Rizwan. We should not be pseudo-secular. The law is for all.

dont try to divide all issues based on religion. If this gets solved thats an achievement. Hats off to the people of Calcutta who are making this possible without a fringe of religious tint in it.

this is a human issue of maintaining law and order...and giving protection of life to commeon citizens..Police failed to do that.
Sad as it is the whole episode! A couple wanting to live on their own terms! A father unable to bear the betrayal of whom he carried on his shoulders and cleaned the shit when she was a baby-for 23 years. A helpless in-laws.
It is not just about a marriage and happy living of just a couple-it is also the heartache of a father (He should be condemned and law should take its course if he resorted to criminal methods-but that is another part).
Sadly the whole multifaceted grievous story is being dealt by the media as just only an inter-religious issue and that too taking sides only with a particular segment of the family.
Media lacks sensitivity! They lack the sensitivity of all involved people; behind a criminally accused man there lies a father; behind a lovable wife there lies an uncaring daughter; behind a loving mother of a son there lies a helpless financially no so well off house-wife. Let us leave the departed soul and spare him of any ill intentions, even if there are some.
But the moot point is while all the aforesaid factors remain as they are even in other parent--disapproved marriages and a murder happening of a groom or a bride, if they are not related to inter-religion, how many cases the media is reporting and their editors interviewing the victims?
Let them look at the backyards of their cities and towns, you will find many.
Is the media addressing the crime part or taking self-appointed cudgels on religious harmony? I am afraid latter!
Rizwans mother is so uneducated. How come she knew each and every detail that went on in the Police station. The journalist has a good potential to be a story writer...
