The President and his army have received 8 BILLION U.S. Dollars from the U.S. over the last seven years to do little more than say they are against terrorism. Why would they take a chance on losing that much income for the sake of Democracy? If the President takes off his uniform, runs for election and loses, he will have lost a 1 BILLION annual salary. My guess is that not very many people are "democratic" enough to take that kind of chance. The U.S. belief that bribery and torture will bring them good results is not only immoral but childish.
Musharraf along with pak military have turned it into an art on how to fool the international Community into giving billions and Keeping him and the military in power. All complete with well choreographed acts like assassination attempts, blasts, raids into waziristan, nukes in danger,emergency, Osama sacks islamabad etc.. etc.. When the fact remains Taliban till today is a wholly owned subsidiary of pakistan ISI with the objective to control Afghanistan and be the reason for west to pay billions of $$ in rent/aid/weapons to Pakistan Army which includes Talibans salary supplemented by drug trade.
Our leaders bring a civil war in our country also. Congress and BJP's stand will bring a civil war in our country also, what Mushraff brought into Pakistan. America does their duty to divide and rule India. They help Musharaff, terrorists and Benazir spontaneously. We are continuing our struggle against communalism even after 60 years of Independence, what Britishers gave us in the name of India and Pakistan. It will harm Congress as well as our nation.
one needs to support the BJP and commies to their opposition to the 123 deal. if we went ahead, we might have to nod our head to what ever they say in the future regarding any policy....suddenly they will say, since india has gas pie line agreement with iran, we will be part of teh axis of evil..and given the unstability govt at the centre, they dont focus on our national interests..am afraid if we become like pakistan since if teh congres doesnt cling on to power, they might impose emergency as well...remember 1975..
For once you appear to have used your brain. Keep at it. Hopefully practice will make perfect.
However, please resist the impulse to write as though you are inside Musharraf's wastepaper basket all the time. Let your analysis be based on facts and not on crystal ball-gazing.
